About us: The Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) is a not-for-profit, business advocacy organization representing approximately 60,000 businesses of all sizes, in all economic sectors and from every area of the province. About the role: As part of the Events Team, this position will mainly be responsible for coordinating Chamber Network and Policy related events and assisting with the delivery of all OCC Signature Events. In doing so, this individual will work collaboratively with all departments to uphold the exceptional service standards associated with the OCC. General: • • • • • • • • • •
Support all event aspects of the OCC’s initiatives to ensure they remain on track and in keeping with the OCC’s high-quality standards; Coordinate venue logistics/payments, BEOs, AV, registration, printing requirements, source estimates and vendors, etc.; Maintain the OCC’s event tools, materials, templates and documents; Execute venue searches, create documents and presentations, finalize agendas, and other duties as required in support of the team; Coordinate onsite event logistics and take part in event delivery; Ensure timely measurement of member satisfaction and make improvement recommendations; CRM database maintenance and other support for chamber network as needed; (60%) CHAMBER HOSTED EVENTS - Communicate with Chamber network to coordinate events; (20%) POLICY EVENTS – Support delivery to the policy team by executing professional events; (20%) SIGNATURE EVENTS – Assist with event coordination of OCC Signature events.

Post-secondary education in event planning, or comparable experience High quality standards and attention to detail Be exceptionally well organized and have a strong work ethic Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Flexible to work early mornings and evenings when required, some travel High level of independence and initiative to follow work through to completion Creative, energetic, approachable Proficiency using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Eventbrite and Outlook Knowledge of graphics, desktop publishing and web management software is an asset Have an understanding of policy issues of relevance to Ontario’s business community
