2017 UNIS Summer Programme Course Description and Coordinator Biography

FILM PRODUCTION Course Description Lights! Camera! Action! The summer film production course will empower students to be active filmmakers and participate in the complete creation of a film from concept development and pre-production through to production and finally post-production. After exploring some key concepts of film language, media literacy and the tools of visual storytelling, student filmmaking teams will develop and pitch an idea for a film and then go about the process of making it! Skills explored include screenwriting, storyboarding, shot planning, camera usage, lighting and sound setup and digital video editing. The course will conclude with a screening of student films. This is very much a "hands-on" course and anyone interested in films, whether you like to watch or make them, is encouraged to join. This is a great course for all students and the teamwork, technology and project-based skills learned here are very transferable to many other situations. No prior filmmaking experience necessary!
