Abstract In this paper, we prove some new fixed point theorems for fuzzy mappings under a G-distance function and a G -distance function in complete metric spaces. Our results extend, generalize, and improve some existing results. Moreover, an example and an application are given here to illustrate the usability of the obtained results. 1 Introduction and preliminaries It is well known that the fuzzy set concept plays an important role in many scientific and engineering applications. The fuzziness appears when we need to perform, on manifold, calculations with imprecision variables. The concept of fuzzy sets was introduced initially by Zadeh [] in . Since then, Heilpern [] introduced the concept of fuzzy mapping and proved a fixed point theorem for fuzzy contraction mappings in a metric linear space, which is a fuzzy extension of the Banach contraction principle. Subsequently several other authors [–] have studied existence of fixed points of fuzzy mappings satisfying some different contractive type conditions. Recently, Abbas and Turkoglu [] also proved some useful fixed point results for fuzzy mappings, which is a fuzzy extension of some existing results. However, the aim of this paper is to prove some new fixed point theorems for fuzzy mappings under a G-distance function and a G -distance function in complete metric spaces. Our results extend, generalize, and improve the results of [, , –, , , , , ]. Throughout this paper, we shall use the following notions. Let (X, d) be a metric space. A fuzzy set A in X is a function with domain X and values in I = [, ]. If A is a fuzzy set and x ∈ X, then the function value A(x) is called the grade of membership of x in X. The α-level set of A, denoted by Aα , is defined as Aα = {x : μ(x) ≥ α} if α ∈ (, ], A = {x : μ(x) > }, where B is the closure of the non-fuzzy set B. A fuzzy set A in X is said to be an approximate quantity if and only if Aα is compact and convex in X for each α ∈ (, ] and supx∈X A(x) = . We denote by W (X) the family of all approximate quantities in X. Let A, B ∈ W (X), then A is said to be more accurate A than B, denoted by A ⊂ B, if and only if A(x) ≤ B(x) for each x ∈ X. © 2015 Chen and Huang; licensee Springer. Let α ∈ [, ], then the family Wα (X) is given by {A ∈ I X : Aα is nonempty convex and compact}. Let X be an arbitrary set, Y be a metric linear space. A mapping T is called a fuzzy mapping if T is a mapping from X into W (Y ), that is, T(x) ∈ W (Y ) for each x in X. Therefore, a fuzzy mapping T is a fuzzy subset on X × Y with membership function Tx(y). A fuzzy point xα in X is called a fixed fuzzy point of the fuzzy mapping T if {xα } ⊂ Tx. If {x} ⊂ Tx, then x is a fixed point of T. The following lemmas are needed in the sequel. Let (X, d) be a metric space. Lemma . [] Let x ∈ X and A ∈ W (X). Then {xα } ⊂ A if pα (x, A) = . Lemma . [] Let A ∈ W (X), then pα (x, A) ≤ d(x, y) + pα (y, A) for x, y ∈ X. Lemma . [] If {xα } ⊂ A, then pα (x, B) ≤ Dα (A, B) for each A, B ∈ W (X). Lemma . [] Let (X, d) be a complete metric space and T be a fuzzy mapping from X into W (X) with x ∈ X. Then there exists x ∈ X such that {x } ⊂ Tx . Next, we introduce some classes of functions. Let be the set of all functions φ such that φ : [, +∞) → [, +∞) is a continuous and nondecreasing function with φ(t) = if and only if t = . Let be the set of all function ϕ such that ϕ : [, +∞) → [, +∞) is lower semicontinuous with ϕ(t) = if and only if t = . Let be the set of all functions ψ such that ψ : [, +∞) → [, +∞) is a nondecreasing function with limn→∞ ψ n (t) = for all t ∈ (, +∞). If ψ ∈ , then ψ is called a -map. It is an easy matter to show that if ψ ∈ , then () ψ(t) < t for all t ∈ (, +∞), () ψ() = .
2 Fixed point theorems under a G-distance function In this section, we will show a fixed theorem for fuzzy mappings under a G-distance function in complete metric spaces. Inspired by Constantin [], we give the following definition. Definition . A function g is said to be a G-distance function if g : [, ∞) → [, ∞) is a continuous function and the following properties hold:

(i) g is nondecreasing in the nd, rd, th, and th variable; (ii) if u, v ∈ [, ∞) are such that u ≤ g(v, v, u, u + v, ) or u ≤ g(v, u, v, , u + v), then u ≤ hv, where < h < is a given constant; (iii) if u ∈ [, ∞) is such that u ≤ g(u, , , u, u), then u = . Next, we introduce and prove the following results which generalize the results of [, , –]. Theorem . Let (X, d) be a complete metric space and g be a G-distance function. Suppose that T , T : X → Wα (X) are two fuzzy mappings on X satisfying the following conditions: φ Dα (T x, T y) ≤ φ m(x, y) + Lb(x, y)

for all x, y ∈ X, where L ≥ , φ ∈ , and m(x, y) = g d(x, y), pα (x, T x), pα (y, T y), pα (x, T y), pα (y, T x) , b(x, y) = min d(x, y), pα (x, T x), pα (y, T y), pα (x, T y), pα (y, T x) .

Then there exists a point x∗ in X such that {x∗ } ⊂ T x∗ and {x∗ } ⊂ T x∗ . Proof Let x ∈ X, by Lemma . there exists x ∈ X such that {x } ∈ T x , which implies that pα (x , T x ) = for each α ∈ [, ], which is possible only if x ∈ (T x )α . Since (T x )α is a nonempty compact subset of X, there exists x ∈ (T x )α such that d(x , x ) = pα (x , T x ) ≤ Dα (T x , T x ). Continuing this process, one obtains a sequence {xn } in X such that xn+ ∈ (T xn )α and xn+ ∈ (T xn+ )α for all n ≥ and d(xn+ , xn+ ) ≤ Dα (T xn , T xn+ ). Firstly, we prove a fixed point theorem about ‘Dα (A, B)’ under a G -distance function. The results extend and improve many well-known results obtained by [, ]. Throughout the rest of the paper, we shall use the following notations for a metric space (X, d). CB(X) is the set of all nonempty closed bounded subsets of X: D(A, B) = inf d(a, b) : a ∈ A, b ∈ B for any A, B ⊂ X,

where αi > (i = , , , , ), α + α + α + α < , α + α < . Then there exists a point x∗ in X such that {x∗ } ⊂ T x∗ and {x∗ } ⊂ T x∗ . Proof We can consider the function g : [, ∞) → [, ∞) defined by g(x , x , x , x , x ) = α x + α x x + α x x + α x x + α x x . Next we prove that g is a G-distance function. Firstly, obviously, g is nondecreasing in the nd, rd, th, and th variable. Secondly, u ≤ g(v, u, v, , u + v) = α v + α uv + α uv + α v = (α + α )v + (α + α )uv . If u ≤ v, from (.) we can get u ≤ (α + α )v + (α + α )uv ≤ (α + α + α + α )v .

α + α + α + α < such that u ≤ hv, where < h < . If u > v,
u ≤ (α + α )v + (α + α )uv < (α + α + α + α )u < u , which is a contraction. Therefore, (ii) of Definition . holds. Thirdly, since u ≤ g(u, , , √ u, u) = [(α + α )u ] = α + α u < u, which is a contraction. Hence, u = . Therefore, Theorem . satisfies all the conditions of Theorem ..
