GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF TASK(S) AND OBJECTIVES TO BE ACHIEVED
The consultant will be responsible for day-to-day development, operations, maintenance and support of the new corporate SOA platform built on open source Java EE and WSO2 middleware technologies. The IT Division is in the midst of an IT transformation towards a new platform based approach. As part of this assignment, the consultant will guide and assist application developers in modernizing legacy applications to the new SOA platform. He or she will be responsible for WSO2 development, operations and maintenance. This includes deploying new WSO2 products as well as configuring existing products to ensure the platform remains fit-for-purpose and fit-for-use. The consultant will also be responsible for designing and implementing automated software and API release processes to help promote a plug-and-play approach for data and systems begin migrated to the new platform. The consultant ensures compliance with architectural standards and is a member of the Application & Platform Operations team of the FAO IT division. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES Academic Qualifications
University degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or a closely related subject.
Technical Competencies and Experience Requirements
General Requirements: 5 years hands on experience developing middleware applications using Java EE 5 years developing, testing and deploying SOAP and REST solutions Knowledge installing and configuring high-availability environments Competencies: Client-oriented approach; Ability to get things done; Ability to manage own time and work effectively individually and as part of team Working knowledge of English; Required technical knowledge, skills and experience:
WSO2 middleware technologies including API Manager and Identity Server products
Java, Servlet, JSP, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, EJB, JUnit, JMS
