FOR  IMMEDIATE  RELEASE           Contact:              Robin  Reck                                                  [email protected]                                                  214.533.1996       CROWDPAC  RELEASES  FIRST  SET  OF  DATA,  INSIGHTS,  SCORES  FOR  2016   PRESIDENTIAL  HOPEFULS       MENLO  PARK,  CA,  January  14,  2015  –  Today,  Crowdpac  unveiled  the  first  set  of   comprehensive  data,  insights  and  Crowdpac  scores  for  25  potential  2016   presidential  candidates,  including  7  Democrats  and  18  Republicans.  Based  on  their   patented  algorithm  that  examines  campaign  finance  contributions,  voting  records,   and  speech,  Crowdpac  found  that  Senator  Bernie  Sanders  (I-‐VT)  was  the  most   extreme  Democrat  with  a  score  of  8.3L  and  on  the  other  end  of  the  political   spectrum,  Senator  Rand  Paul  (R-‐KY)  scored  a  10+C.  Carly  Fiorina  matched  closest  to   the  Republican  average,  while  Martin  O’Malley  and  Andrew  Cuomo  matched  closest   to  the  Democratic  average.       Additionally,  Crowdpac  unveiled  the  results  of  two  surveys  from  YouGov—one  of   306  political  insiders  and  one  of  306  Crowdpac  users.  The  surveys  found  that  Jon   Huntsman  is  seen  as  having  the  most  “presidential”  character  of  potential   Republican  candidates,  and  Senator  Ted  Cruz  (R-‐TX)  as  having  the  least.  On  the   other  side  of  the  coin,  Bernie  Sanders  is  viewed  as  having  the  most  “presidential”   character  of  the  potential  Democratic  candidates,  and  Governor  Andrew  Cuomo  (D-‐ NY)  as  having  the  least.  Many  respondents,  even  self-‐identified  Republicans,   described  New  Jersey  Governor  Chris  Christie  as  “arrogant,”  and  gave  him  low   marks  on  trust  and  national  security.     “With  primary  speculation  getting  more  and  more  intense  as  the  days  go  on,  these   new  data  points,  scores  and  insights  will  provide  the  nearly  146  million  registered   voters  with  valuable  information  before  the  exploratory  committees  are  even   formed,”  said  Steve  Hilton,  CEO  and  co-‐founder  of  Crowdpac.  “Crowdpac  users  can   now  easily  look  up  various  undeclared  candidates  and  find  information  that  will   help  them  form  opinions  and  follow  candidates  throughout  the  political  process.  By   giving  information  to  every  voter,  Crowdpac  is  adhering  to  its  mission  of  giving   politics  back  to  the  people  by  informing  them  with  the  latest  and  most  trusted   information  housed  in  one  central  location.”

Interesting  findings  about  the  two  leading  contenders  in  each  party  based  on  recent   polls  (Jeb  Bush  and  Chris  Christie  in  the  Republican  camp  and  Hillary  Clinton  and   Elizabeth  Warren  in  the  Democratic  camp):       • While  Elizabeth  Warren  is  very  liberal  overall,  she  is  more  moderate  on  the   issue  of  energy  policy  (4L)  than  all  Democratic  candidates  except  for  Jim   Webb  (2.9L).   • Hillary  Clinton  is  more  liberal  than  Elizabeth  Warren  in  the  policy  areas  of   energy,  fair  elections,  health  care  and  immigration.   • On  her  signature  issue  of  banking  and  finance,  Elizabeth  Warren  has  an   almost  identical  score  as  Hillary  Clinton.   • Chris  Christie  is  the  most  moderate  of  the  four  top  contenders.     • Political  donors  judge  Jeb  Bush  to  be  more  conservative  on  immigration  and   education  than  common  wisdom  dictates:  he  has  the  same  score  as  Rick   Santorum  on  immigration  (4.1C)  and  is  slightly  more  conservative  than  Rick   Snyder  and  Rick  Perry  on  education  (5.3C  vs.  5.0C  and  5.1C,  respectively).     Other  surprising  findings:     • Bobby  Jindal  and  Rick  Santorum  are  more  moderate  on  banking  and  finance   than  the  average  Republican  (2.0C  and  2.1C  vs.  average  Republican  score  of   5.5C).   • Ted  Cruz  is  much  more  moderate  when  it  comes  to  the  issue  area  of   intelligence  and  surveillance  than  the  average  Republican  (4.0C  vs.  5.2C).   • Joe  Biden  and  Hillary  Clinton  are  the  most  liberal  on  the  issue  of  fair  elections   (8.8L  and  8.6L).   • Chris  Christie  and  Jon  Huntsman  have  similar  scores  on  most  issues.   • Jeb  Bush  and  Mitt  Romney  have  similar  scores  on  most  issues.   • Martin  O’Malley  has  similar  scores  to  Andrew  Cuomo  on  most  issues,  but  is   much  more  liberal  on  abortion  (9.1L  vs.  4.9L).   • Rand  Paul  is  more  “liberal”  on  intelligence  and  surveillance  than  any  other   candidate.   • Rand  Paul  (10.0C)  is  the  most  conservative  candidate  on  defense  and  foreign   policy  (even  more  conservative  than  Ted  Cruz,  8.1C,  and  Marco  Rubio,  8.0C).     The  two  identical  YouGov  surveys  were  completed  in  mid-‐December,  and  there  was   a  quantitative  and  qualitative  section  of  the  survey.  The  quantitative  aspect  of  the   survey  asked  users  to  score  effectiveness,  trust  and  national  security  capability  for   each  of  the  25  candidates  as  well  as  a  few  famous  politicians  such  as  former   Presidents.  The  qualitative  aspect  was  for  free  response  to  the  questions  about  a   candidate’s  vision  and  list  of  traits.       About  Crowdpac
