Four Reasons why you should visit the Drumcliffe Christmas Tree Festival and Craft Fair

Capture the spirit of Christmas at one of Sligo’s most iconic buildings – Drumcliffe Church. CHRISTMAS is almost upon us and for many that means family time, presents and plentiful amounts of chocolate! At Drumcliffe this also means it is time for our annual charitable Christmas Festival, which sees Drumcliffe Church open its doors to literally THOUSANDS of visitors from both far and near. To help you get in the festive mood we have prepared this handy guide, which shares some of what you can expect when you visit Drumcliffe this December. Remember to share this guide with your friends and family! 1. Sixty Five Magical Christmas Trees Drumcliffe church will be adorned with sixty five hand-crafted Christmas Trees and displays, which will have been prepared by local groups and schools. These displays will come in an array of shapes and sizes with no two the same! Some may even be made out of paper? One thing is for sure - we guarantee you will be impressed with the creativity on offer!

2. Craft Stalls Our car park will be transformed into a Christmas craft market with 30 stallholders making the journey to display and sell their wares in a large cosy marquee. We will have bakers, artists, florists and much more to tempt the Christmas Shopper and with ample parking you’ll will never be too far from the car should you get carried away with the wonderful selection!! 3. Live Crib For the first time at Drumcliffe we will have a live crib, which means both children and adults alike will experience the Christmas Story in a tangible way. There will be pet goats, lambs and other playful animals for all the family to enjoy. However, if outdoors is not your thing we are also erecting a handcrafted indoor crib – which proved a favourite at last year’s festival. 4. Live Music Soloists, choirs, brass bands and organists are just some of the musical performances, which you can expect throughout the festival. So, if music is your thing please ensure you get down to Drumcliffe Church, as each and every day of this exciting festival will have something to offer. We hope you enjoyed this brief insight into what to expect at the Drumcliffe Christmas Festival between the 6th and 10th of December. In the meantime we look forward to seeing each of you at Drumcliffe this Christmas for what truly will be a magical charity event.
