Mr. Monk is a trial attorney specializing in tort defense litigation. Areas of particular expertise include: products liability, premises liability and security, construction accidents, general liability and insurance coverage. Mr. Monk also handles white collar criminal litigation and represents corporations in administrative proceedings. Mr. Monk is a member of the New York State Bar where he serves on the Executive Committee of the Torts, Insurance, Compensation Law Section and Chairs the Premises Liability/Labor Law Committee. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute and Association of the Bar of the City of New York, where he has served on the Products Liability Committee and Special Committee on Tort Litigation, and has been a lecturer on Trial Practice. Laude in 1980. During law school, he interned at the Organized Crime Strike Force of the United States Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of New York. Mr. Monk served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Trial Division of the New York County District Attorney's Office from 1980 to 1984, during which time he was appointed to the Special Narcotics Prosecutors Office. Upon leaving the District Attorney's Office, Mr. Monk joined the firm of Jones Hirsch Connors & Bull, where he became a partner in 1989. While at Jones Hirsch Connors & Bull, Mr. Monk managed some of the firm's largest defense clients' accounts, successfully tried numerous high exposure cases and handled appellate work. He joined Harrington, Ocko & Monk as a partner in 1996.
