rillas! GoGoGo JUNE 24 Norwich 7 tSoEPT 2013 This summer Norwich will be home to some unusual visitors – Nelson and his Gorilla friends will animate the city’s streets, parks and open spaces creating a memorable and fun event for everyone. For 11 weeks the Gorilla sculptures will proudly showcase the creativity of Norwich, its heritage, architecture, regeneration and its prolific art scene, as well as highlighting environmental issues and the plight of one of the world’s most endangered species. A vivid and vibrant parade of world class creative talent created by local and regional professional artists, community groups and schools and sponsored by local businesses, the GoGoGorillas! sculptures will excite, delight and raise significant funds for Break charity and the Born Free Foundation when they are auctioned off at the end of the event.
Norwich BID is going bananas to bee supporting Break and GoGoGorillas! this summer by sponsoring this trail map which guides visitors around this interesting and unique Gorilla adventure. As you explore our vibrant city, look out for Boris the iconic Norwich BID Gorilla, and his highly decorated Gorilla friends, they are hiding in the city waiting to meet you! Boris has made a special journey from London to join the Gorilla troop and would love for you to find him to say ‘hello’.
A Norfolk born charity, Break actively changes young lives across East Anglia by supporting children, young people and families. Break has four main areas of work:
• • • •
Young people in care and moving on Children and young people with disabilities Families in need of support Children at risk

Cool Schools In addition to the main trail, 66 baby Gorilla mini-sculptures will showcase the creative flair, excitement and enthusiasm of young people from across the county. A huge thank you to all the young people and teachers from the participating Norfolk schools. Download the schools trail map at www.gogogorillas.co.uk
To pre-bid or buy tickets for the auction on Thursday 3rd October go to www.gogogorillas.co.uk “We are delighted to be part of this fun Boris the BID Gorilla and engaging event which adds to the vibrancy of the city as a destination for visitors. We hope the trail encourages more visitors to the city during the summer, who not only participate in this amazing free art trail but will also discover all that Norwich has to offer, such as award-winning shopping, fabulous food and drink, and rich culture and heritage. Summer 2013 is all about Gorillas taking over the city, so go bananas for GoGoGorillas! and come and seek out these stunning creatures – we look forward to seeing you there.” Stefan Gurney, Executive Director (aka Chief Gorilla), Norwich BID.
