Words from the Coaches. . .
CROSS COUNTRY: If you see some kids walking around with a bounce in their steps and a song in their hearts odds are they are on the Chinook Cross country team. These kids are special. They don’t look at running two miles as a punishment but as a way to have fun. Crazy as it seems, these kids are self-motivated and a bit nuts. There are no benches, no halftimes, and no timeouts. Runners yesterday ran at Big Cross in Pasco. Those receiving a PR were Cole Nyce and Joshua Crane. Two runners on the team ran out of their minds… Reese Huff (the magic Dragon) and Zoe (nobody can catch me) Cooper. Coach Butler seems to think they were motivated by his socks and chocolate milk. Way to go runners VOLLEYBALL: 7th grade Orange volleyball pulled out a win against Highlands last night. Tabitha Rising didn't let anything hit the floor and Jhamie Johansson had amazing serves that helped lead the team to victory. Nice job ladies! 8th grade Orange volleyball also defeated the Scotties. Samantha Costar-Dunlap went on a serving streak, earning 14 points in the third game. AubreyAnna Asselin played great defense to help the Lady Wolves earn a win. Coach Beach is proud of you all! FOOTBALL: Raanan Reddinger hauled in a pass from AJ Hendrickson for the go ahead touchdown with less than a minute remaining to lead the Wolves to victory 13-7 over Garrison. Hendrickson also rushed for a touchdown. Carter Juergens recovered a fumble in the end zone to thwart the go ahead TD. Jimmy Rush scored an extra point and had a huge run to set up the 1st touchdown. Brady Bostic had a touchdown saving tackle and Brian Beardsley a key interception to set up the winning TD. The defense played well all game led by Parker Rieck.
SOCCER: The Chinook girls played Park Middle School in a close game that ended in a 2-2 tie. Lia Dallas scored two goals for the Wolves, with Park barely ending the game with the tie goal in the last 2 mins. Addison Copeland stepped in as goalie for about two thirds of the game blocking several tough shots and maintaining the lead for most of the game.
