A collaboration between the Department for Education, Claire Warden and Gowrie SA is providing a unique opportunity for OSHC services to be involved in a project exploring quality area 1 – Educational program and Practice through the Floorbook Approach. This project aims to: • •
Build capacity of educators’ around the cycle of planning, documentation and involving children in documentation processes. Provide a range of learning opportunities including mentoring, workshops, networking and bringing professionals together to share experiences over time.
Each OSHC service that is successful in their expression of interest will be able to nominate two educators who can participate in all the professional learning opportunities as follows: •

Term 2: Introduction to Talking and Thinking Floorbooks specifically for OSHC. Date: 16th May 10am - 1pm Venue: Education Development Centre, Milner Street, Hindmarsh, SA. Term 3: Mentoring for site teams for 2 hours x 2 sessions (travel costs not included and would be negotiated) Dates/times to be negotiated between Briony and each site. Term 4: Floorbook Expo – sharing session. All sites to share ways of using Floorbooks, examples of documentation, ways they are meeting QA1. Date: 7th November 2018 Venue: Gowrie SA, 43 Dew Street, Thebarton.
Interested OSHC sites need to complete an expression of interest (see next page). Each service will need to: • • • •
Make a financial commitment of $400 (with the Department for Education contributing a further $400 on behalf of your site). Commit to implementing The Floorbook approach to programming and documentation throughout terms 2, 3 and 4 of 2018. Commit to sending two educators per site to all events. (whole team can be included in the mentoring sessions) Be prepared to share their learning with others at the event on November 7th.
