Grade Point Average (GPA) Calculation 1. Convert the letter grades to grade points. (A = 4, A- = 3.67, B+ = 3.33, B = 3, B- = 2.67, C+ = 2.33, C = 2, C- = 1.67, D+ = 1.33, D = 1, D- = 0.67, F = 0) 2. Then multiply the grade points by the number of credit hours attempted for each corresponding course. The product will give you the number of quality points earned for each course. A student’s GPA is calculated by diving the total earned quality points by the credit total hours (i.e. GPA hours) attempted. For example:

Course

Grade

ENG 101 BIO 105 PED 101 PSY 105

B CB+ F

Credit Hours Attempted 3 4 2 3 12

22.34 / 12 = 1.86 GPA
