KEY MESSAGES
All milestone were reached with success
‘Icaqinzen’ (3:ZDK17) and ‘Zeina’ (6:ZDK17) are ideal to improve yield performances and diseases resistance, respectively, while maintaining good rheological quality.
‘Ouassheca’ (8:ZDK17) and ‘Mikikassem’ (9:ZDK17) are ideal to improve yield performances and diseases resistance, respectively, while also can help increase grain size of Australian varieties.
Strong genetic diversity exists between Australian, CIMMYT and ICARDA germplasm. No evident genetic similarity exists between CIMMYT and ICARDA.
84:ZDL15 showed good yield potential and stability across 15 environments
3 main QTLs have been identified for grain yield potential and stability, and 2 main QTLs for root angle.
‘Faraj’ corresponding to 85:ZDL18, selected by Dr Gururaj, is a late maturing type with Hessian Fly resistance, good gluten strength, and outstanding heat tolerance.
100 markers underling MTAs for many traits are undergoing validation to KASP for easy use in MAS
57 F2 and F4 progenies derived from ICARDA by Australia crosses have been generated and are undergoing selection via field and molecular screening.
A total of 220 fast-cycled ICARDA x Australia F5 have been selected by Australian, CIMMYT, ICARDA, and Maghreb breeders in Morocco
BACKGROUND This annex is generated to provide scientific supporting evidences to the annual report of GRDC, as well as partial fulfilment of Milestone 9: Delivery of all related data and information on the performance of all genotypes screened in this project to Australia through the CAIGE project.

LOCATION A total of 25 collaborators from as many research stations from 9 countries provided back data on the set of International Durum Yield Trials 40 (IDYT40), which were imported in 2016 by CAIGE under the code ZDK17. Table 1 summarizes the environment basic information. Data from these stations are made available to CAIGE participants to support their selection.
