Several churches, in cooperation with the Arkansas Rice Depot, will help stock the shelves of food pantries in our community. ARKANSAS BAPTIST CHILDREN'S HOMES Mothers take on many other roles: a nurse, a protector, a taxi driver, a teacher, a friend, and someone a child can count on in a time of need. Sadly, many children in Arkansas do not have mothers who meet their needs. They do not have mothers who put them first, above all else. They do not have mothers who guide and nurture them. Each year, many of these children enter into the care of the Arkansas Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries (ABCHomes). They arrive never experiencing the love and protection of a godly mother. Fortunately, when children and teens arrive at an ABCHomes campus, they will live with compassionate and caring housemothers that have been called by God to stand in the gap when the children’s biological mothers cannot or will not fulfill their roles. Housemothers are to the children what mothers are called to be: cook, shopper, taxi driver, nurse, comforter, counselor, teacher, to name a few. The theme for the 2015 Mother's Day Offering is A Place to Call Home. Through gifts to the Mother's Day offering, ABCHomes offers a stable and structured home life to more than 300 children and teens each year that enter into the care of ABCHomes because of severe abuse and neglect. ABCHomes seeks to provide children and teens a Christ-centered place of safety and security where they can grow physically, emotionally, academically, and spiritually. With gifts to the Mother's Day Offering, ABCHomes can continue to minister to children and teens who need “motherly” love and care and ultimately need the love of Christ. Growing up is easier for our children and teens with the help of generous churches like ours.

75TH ANNIVERSARY The 75th anniversary of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church is July 14, 2015. We plan to recognize and celebrate this monumental occasion in September in conjunction with the completion of the new building. Please make plans to be in town on the morning of September 27 for this very special occasion. More details will come in the following months, but save the date! In the meantime, if you have a story to share about how God has used the body or ministries of GSFBC to impact you or your family, please share it with us by emailing
[email protected] with 75th Anniversary as the subject line!
[email protected] With so many ministries in our church, sometimes it is hard to know what is going on in all of them. Often exciting things that happen get overlooked, and we need your help to make sure we are celebrating all of the incredible things God is doing in our church! If you have a personal testimony or know of something that God has done specifically within a ministry here at Geyer Springs, please share that story with us at
[email protected]. Thank you for helping us celebrate the good things the Lord is doing here at Geyer Springs!
