My internship at Nordland/Trinity was an amazing preparation for my first call. Preaching every week, teaching confirmation, conducting funerals, visiting the sick, baptizing babies, leading Bible study - its a lot, a lot more than many internship sites offer or expect. And while it may seem daunting at first, both congregations, along with the supervisor, are so healthy and kind! I had the freedom and responsibility to tackle everything, without ever feeling that I was on my own, or that I would be judged harshly. The goal at Rutland/Havana is for you to serve Gods people, and to learn and grow as a pastor. Both towns and the surrounding areas are welcoming and supportive. Expect that when all is said and done, these people will hold a special place in your heart forever. Most first calls are in small town or rural settings.
