Healthwatch Bristol’s The Wellbeing Show on BCfm Show topic on 9 August 2016: Freedom of Mind *Listen back to the show by selecting the 9/8/16 show here Guests: Katie, Ella and Luci (members of the Freedom of Mind team)
What is Freedom of Mind? We all have mental health, yet often we ignore it unless we start to struggle. Emotional difficulties can affect anyone at any time in their life, and we believe that everyone should have the tools to help themselves and others improve their emotional wellbeing, whatever the state of their mental health. Freedom of Mind Festival is a series of events taking place across the whole city between the 30th September and the 10th October 2016. These events will encourage conversation, offer practical tools and influence change, to make Bristol a happier, healthier city.
On the show, guests Katie, Ella and Luci gave listeners an insight into the Festival, the events taking place and how everyone can be involved including: Attend a Freedom of Mind event – there’s lots to choose from including: launch event; political debate about mental health; film screening at The Watershed of The Stranger on the Bridge; book signing with author of The Shock of the Fall, Nathan Filer; and the Freedom of Mind conference. Host your own Freedom of Mind event with friends, family, your local community, a social club or at work. Share what gives you #FreedomOfMind via social media or write a blog about what mental health means to you for Freedom of Mind to share. Volunteer with Freedom of Mind. The Care Forum is a registered charity No.1053817 and a company limited by guarantee in England No. 3170666
