Host an Amazing Race An innovative approach to an old concept – the car rally. Based on the popular television programme, one or a small group of brethren and their wives/partners organise an “Amazing Race” for your lodge members and friends. As well as your brethren and their families having a good time, potential members (and their wives/partners) will see your lodge having fun. A great opportunity too for older brethren mixing with younger brethren How: 1.
Find one (or a small group) of energetic imaginative brethren
2.
Charge them with the task of organising an Amazing Race for ALL your lodge brethren and their families
3.
Give them time (2 or 3 months) to work out the 5-9 stops
4.
Have them consider the race duration, costs for the lodge, costs for the participants (especially with the price of petrol), the age of the participants, etc
5.
Announce the date for the race at least a month ahead
6.
Ensure the Race is clearly marketed within your lodge
Tips: •
Be sure to make sure the event is not really a race – but more about the fun of it

Be creative
•
Try and keep the participation fee to under $10
•
Those who are going too fast around the course could be made to do additional activities
