"'That to do vdth it till February? but we never did. I lIToUld assume, therefore that the sense of the meeting to store the 'I. V. was valid (although I did not include this in the ninutes). 1'1§reover, the meeting never considered seriously the following important items: 1. There are no reasonable assurances for the safety of the 'I.V. if it be raffled. 2. The old 1.V. in the T.V. room was not secure ( whendo we ever learn?) It could have easily been ripped off•••• (
3.
1\0 provisions were made to organize the raffle.
4. l\iot much serious consideration was given to possible places for a t.v. room.
To Members-of the Everett Moore Baker House, Greetings: WHEREAS We are extremely disturbed by the outcome of the meeting of the Baker House on December 6, 1971, to wit, that the TV be raffled at the next meeting of the Baker House to a member of the Baker House with the understanding that he is to return it when he leaves the Baker House, and WHEREAS We enjoyed the occasional use we have made of the color TV and wish to be able to continue such use, and WHEREAS We have no desire to let any of the members of Baker House be screwed, and WHEREAS There are no reasonable assurances for the safety of the TV if it be raffled, and WHEREAS No provisions were made for organizing the raffle, and WHEREAS Said meeting of the Baker House resembled a circus, and WHEREAS We believe that the color TV can be fixed; We hereby ask that the members of Baker House petition in order to consider at least the following proposals at the meeting of Baker House in February 1972: I. The color TV shall be neither raffled nor sold. AND II. A. Place the TV in the basement of Baker House in one of two locations: 1. Next to the Music Hoom where one of the pingpong tables is now located. This location requires building a new room, preferably soundproof, at this location. Money would be obtained from the Housing Office for this purpose (under the guidance of the client team elected on December 13, 1971); 2. Where the pool table is now located. Putting the TV here means moving the pool table to a new location (either replacing one ping-pong table or being placed in a lounge chosen by design or chance) and building a fourth wall across the open side and soundproofing the new room. Money would be obtained from the Housing Office. OR B. Place the TV in the lounge of a desirable floor (probably the sixth) and provide soundproofing. Also create a hall lounge on that floor. OR c. Store the TV in the trunk room until the TV can again be used by all members of Baker House. If you agree with us, please sign the petition posted on the social pole. In all events the television will return no later than the February meeting of the Baker House. Signed this ~welfth-day of January in the year 1972 A.D. by The Baker House Vigilantes
(
\ Motion that the Baker House Vigilantes give up the color TV so that Bakerites can watch the Super Bowl with the understanding that after the Super Bowl the TV be stored by execomm until the house decides in February where to put it.

celentano As the acting liaisen between the Baker House Vigilante Comm. and the Baker Executive Committee, I fully support the BhlTC effort and Wish to explain what was happening. Iirst~ r.etmesay that the members of the BHVC were not a bunch of assholes, they
were'
a serious group of
Bakerite s whowere disturbed at not only the outcome of the House 1eeting t but the way. in which it was run as well. I use the past tense in describing the BHVC because as of now, their work is over. The 1'. V. is safely stored and a serious discussion of the color 'I" V. and House l'.i.eeting·s is innnanent. Let me altlO stress that this BHVe
has no ties with any previous or future
Baker Vigilance Comittee .. 'Ihis committee was solely formed for the purpose of rect::.tying irresponsible house actiC'n• .A:r,y onG who attenc1ed the Color 1. V.. House Lesting needn tt be reminded of
the farcj.cal way it was run.. It was a circus. 'I'here is a difference between having a good time at a House heeting and turning it, into utter chaos. Quite a few people have noticed the ugly trend in the last few meetings and hflve'Htopped
