How to Calculate a GPA (effective Fall 2006) Grades and quality points at Immaculata University are: Grades A AB+ B BC+ C CD+ D F

Quality Points 4.00 3.67 3.33 3.00 2.67 2.33 2.00 1.67 1.33 1.00 0.00

A grade point average is the total quality points divided by the total credit hours. Note the example: Grades A B B+ C-

Credit Hours 3 4 3 2

Quality Points 4.00 3.00 3.33 1.67

To get the total quality points, multiply the quality points for each grade by the number of credits for the grade: A B B+ C-

3 x 4 x 3 x 2 x --sum 12 gpa

4.00 3.00 3.33 1.67 hrs

= 12.00 = 12.00 = 9.99 = 3.34 ----36.33 points

36.33 points/12 gpa hrs = 3.02 gpa

Note: If a course is repeated, the last grade earned will be used to compute the grade point average.
