How to By creating a Houzz Ideabook you are saving all of your favorite images, designs, PDFs, photos, and styles for your home project. It’s a great way to aggregate your likes and wants for any future remodeling projects. You can share your ideabook with designers, contractors and remodeling companies to help show the styles you want to be incorporated in your redesign.

CREATING YOUR IDEABOOK

LOOKING AT YOUR IDEABOOKS

Once you are logged into Houzz, you can browse through an assortment of photos and designs. You can filter by room, interior/exterior, and even products for each room. Once you have decided what to focus on, you can start creating your own ideabook.

When you’re preparing for your home or room remodel, you’ll want to review all of the items you have placed in your ideabooks to make sure your dream room is created. You can access your ideabook a few ways:

Find something that you like and click the ‘Save’ button.

You will then be prompted to either add the image to an existing ideabook or create a new one.

Go to your profile and click the tab “ideabooks” and you can choose the ideabook you’d like to review or share.

Or, you can view your ideabooks by scrolling over the ‘Your Houzz’ tab at the top right of the page. A drop down menu will appear, giving you access to check out your ideabooks.

a. To create a new ideabook, select the ‘create new ideabook’ from the drop down menu. Choose a relevant title, and what you like about the image. b. Click ‘Save to Ideabook’ and your new ideabook is created.

You can create your own ideabook within your profile. Just view your profile, click the “new ideabook” button and enter a title.

SHARING YOUR IDEABOOKS You have sharing settings to specifically control who can view or edit your ideabooks.

Simply click on the “Collaborate” button after choosing your ideabook. “Collaboration Settings” pops up and enter [email protected] to share your ideabooks.

When you’re browsing items, you can now click “add to existing ideabook” and classify your favorites based on your pre-made ideabooks.

EDITING YOUR IDEABOOK

It is often helpful to organize your ideabooks into different themes. This way, when you’re searching for items to show your designer or remodeling company, it is easier to find and share. Some examples of themes include: room categories, colors, outdoor living room, kitchen remodel, etc...

You may have to make changes to your ideabook. Whether you want to update a description, change the title of your ideabook. Here’s how you can do it:

You can manually add photos to your ideabook, so if you’re perusing the internet and come across an image or style that you like and want to add, it’s simple!

Choose the ideabook that you’d like to add to from your profile. Click the ‘add photo or file’ on the ideabook.

Click the ‘edit’ button above your posted images

A pop up will appear and give you three different options for adding images to your ideabook.

You will also have the option to move or copy photos to different ideabooks. So, if you had a color that you wanted for your kitchen, but decide it’s better for your bathroom, you can easily swap the photo. Or you can remove the photo if it’s no longer a fit for your home!
