Network Technician in Amman National Recruited Staff
Reports to: IT Manager Location: Amman, Jordan

Main purpose of the position The Network Technician analyzes computer- and network-related problems reported by end-users, diagnoses the most effective method to resolve the problem and implements the solution; installs, maintains, and troubleshoots the Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), data communications, servers/storage and all peripheral equipment.

Main responsibilities Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves hardware-, software- and networkrelated problems encountered by end-users of the ICARDA office, the Internet, PCs and Laptops and new computer technology. Configures and installs Windows workstations systems in response to the demands of a network design. Adheres to ICARDA ITU Service Level Agreement and standards for clients. Trains end-users on the use and features of the standard ICARDA operating systems and applications on the various platforms. Under supervision performs primary network system administration on network and peripheral equipment as needed. Education, qualifications and experience Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. Microsoft Office Specialist certified and or CISCO or HP (CCNA /HP Networking certification ) or similar certification English language certification Minimum 3 years experience preferably with an international background Experience of end user support on Local Area Networks ,Wide Area Networks, Cloud computing with networking technologies Mastery of desktop operating systems and various software applications.

Terms of appointment, salary and benefits The initial contract will be for 3 years, of which the first year will be probationary period. Subsequent employment is decided based on the merit and productivity of the staff member, and continued need for the position.
