Drawing Using Microsoft Word Introduction – ‘A COOL CAT’ To create the above ‘cat’ I have used the application Microsoft Word. Obviously you can improve by adding a tail and making the ears a little better but here are the basic steps to creating your first graphic in Word. When you have completed this save and print and enter into your portfolio as evidence in producing images in Word. Remember once you have used the tools from Microsoft Word’s drawing toolbox you should remember to apply these functions to your assignments.
Follow the instructions below: YOUR ACTIONS From the menu bar, choose VIEW and then TOOLBARS From here you will need to select Drawing – just click on the word Now to draw your first shape. Select from the draw toolbar the Oval Click into your screen and drag with the mouse your first shape Fill your shape with Dark Grey using the Fill Colour tool with is pictured as a tin of paint on the draw toolbar Draw an oval inside the other oval and fill with a lighter shade of grey
COMPUTER RESPONDS The view bar brings a drop down menu and you are able to select toolbars You will notice that you have an extra toolbar on the screen – this is the Draw toolbar Remember by pointing to it you will have the tool-tip appear to ensure you have chosen the correct tool. See below for the steps to be taken Picture of fill tool below Your graphic should look like step 2 on the next page
