Grip•Fix Grip•Fix: Our patented „form-closure technology“ guarantees maximum holding power – world-wide! 8
9
What makes LANG clamping systems the very best in 5-axis machining?
Best accessibility
Clamping without endstop and the compact structure of the Makro•Grip® centering vise offers the best accessibility for 5-axis machining.
Exceptional holding power
Our form-closure technology opens endless possibilities in milling, this with very low actuation and compact
clamping devices.
Reduced vibrations
The low vibration machining makes it possible to have workpiece surfaces with supreme quality and adds
to the longevity of the tools used.
Tremendous material savings
Minimal clamping depth of only 3mm on the workpieces allows for tremendous material savings.
High repeatability
The special form-closure allows for repeatability (0.01mm) of workpieces without endstop.
Considerable savings in set-up time
Due to stamping directly on the saw cut or cinder layer, preparatory steps on the workpieces are reduced
to a minimum, even on high strength materials such as Titanium
Minimal wear
Form-closure jaws combined with the stamping of the workpieces, together with the low actuation force
reduces the wear on the vise to a minimum. The preserving of the jaws guaranties clamping consistency.
No deformation
Minimal actuation force prevents deformation of the workpiece during machining. 10
Grip•Fix
THE ORIGINAL – Often copied, but never the same! Highest holding power world-wide due to „form-closure technology“! Clamping of workpiece with formclosure stamping technology
Clamping of workpiece without stamping technology
Clamping problems of other manufacturers:
Advantages of the Grip•Fix technology by LANG:
• • • •
• • •
A safe clamping of high-tensile materials can only be realized with high clamping pressure Large and poorly accessible applications are needed High wearing of jaw teeth and vise guidance ways Clamping with high repeatability is not possible
Conventional clamping by friction: Large and bulky vises are necessary even with the smallest workpieces to achieve extreme clamping power.
11
Pre-stamping of the workpiece with up to 20 tons of pressure allows you to clamp high-tensile materials even with a smaller and compact vise Excellent accessibility allows you to use short tools which results in fewer vibrations and longer life Minimum wear of the vise
Clamping with form-closure technology: Even with a 3mm clamping depth and minimal clamping force a secure grip on large workpieces is no problem with the compact Makro•Grip® centering vise.
Functional principle of Grip•Fix technology – 5 seconds that revolutionize your machining process Materials such as steel, aluminium, copper, brass and even plastic can be stamped
1
Sawing of blank with minimum addition of material to clamping depth
2
Stamping achieved in 3-5 seconds
12
Grip•Fix
3
Control marks between indents should be slightly visible
4
Clamping of blank in Makro•Grip® vise for safe form-closure clamping on 0.12“ (3mm) only.

Mounting: via standard bores
Mounting: via clamps
Alignment: with keys
Alignment: with keys
The standard Quick•Point® plates with the existing mounting bores are attached with nuts in the t-slots of the machine table. The plate will be aligned via keys. The bottom of the plate has 20H7 keyways.
Some of the rectangular Quick•Point® plate sizes also has a version with clamping edges in addition to mounting bores. This clamping edge can be used to attach the plate with clamps to the machine table. The plate will be aligned via the keyways.
60
via custom mounting bore drawing with keys and t-fittings
Round plates are best attached to the machine table with custom mounting bores and t-fittings. Ideally the concentric alignment is done via one t-fitting, which has on one side the measurement (12H7) of the center bore of the Quick•Point® plate and on the other side the measurement of the round machine table. It is enough to use an additional key on the underside of the Quick•Point® plate for the axial alignment. As an alternative to the t-fitting 2 keys can be used in each recess if the layout of the machine table allows it.
Quick•Point®
4
Mounting: via custom mounting bore drawing Alignment: with keys Each of the Quick•Point® plates is also available without mounting bores or clamping edges. This allows the modification of the plates to accomodate custom bores specific to the t-slot pattern of the machine table. In addition custom keyways can be machined into the underside of the plate (if necessary with threads for fixed attachment). These modifications can be done by LANG for an additional charge or by the customers themselves (plates are case hardened to 57HRc with a depth of 0.7mm)
5 Mounting: via custom mounting bore drawing Alignment: with Quick•Point® Gauges The standard Quick•Point® plates with the existing mounting bores are attached with nuts in the t-slots of the machine table. The alignment is done with a highly precise Quick•Point® Gauge. A probe can measure along the coordinateground sides of the Gauge and the plate can be aligned accordingly
6
Mounting: via custom mounting bore drawing Alignment: with Quick•Point® Gauges The alignment can be done via the Quick•Point® Gauge after the round plates are attached to the machine table with the custom bores. The probe measures along the coordinate-ground sides of the Gauge to determine the axial aligment. The concentric alignment will be achieved with the inside diameter of the Gauge.

Quick•Point® 96 to 52 Adapter Plate
Adapt from large to small set-up in 1 minute! Our Quick•Point® system is so flexible and time saving that the larger Quick•Point® plate can remain mounted to the machine table for machining with large and small vises. For a quick change over the Adapter Plate reduces the clamping stud distance from the 96mm system to the 52mm system with only 1 actuation screw. In 3 quick steps the system is changed over.
Makro•Grip®
Step 1: Loosen the actuation screw in the Quick•Point® plate mounted on the machine table to release the larger vise. Step 2: Exchange this larger vise with the Adapter Plate with clamping studs and tighten the actuation screw on the Quick•Point® plate mounted on the table. Step 3: Insert the smaller vise in the Adapter Plate and tighten the actuation screw on the Adapter Plate. These steps take approximately 1 minute.
5-Axis Vise Item # 47205
For Example: The height difference between the large Makro•Grip® 5-axis set-up and the small Makro•Grip® 5-axis set-up with the Adapter Plate is 3mm. Total set-up height for larger vise is: Quick•Point® plate on machine table 27mm and large Makro•Grip® 5-axis vise 89mm total set-up height is 116mm. Total set-up height for small vise is: Quick•Point® plate on machine table 27mm, Adapter Plate 27mm and small Makro•Grip® 5-axis vise 65mm. Total set-up height is 119mm.
