SUPERINTENDENT’S INVITATION This world we live in is full of voices vying for our attention. “A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompense to his enemies” (Isaiah 66:6). The “voice of noise from the city” is at peak volume these days, with political leaders and would-be presidents crowding the airwaves. Sadly, those seeking an escape are hard-pressed to find it in many modern churches. Isaiah saw a time when “a voice from the temple” would be just as unclear and terrible as the noises rising from the city. Thankfully, my brothers and sisters, we are part of a church and an organization that is following, proclaiming, and preaching the “voice of the LORD.” It has never been more critical, and we must ensure His voice is being transmitted to the next generation. For this reason our theme for General Ministry Conference 2016 is “The Voice.” GMC is centered on the ideas of investing in next-generation leaders, and inspiring ministry and personal development. Each General Session, “M3” workshop, and “Let’s Talk” panel is designed to equip, empower, and educate the membership of our great organization; providing musicians, communicators, and church leadership with essential training to expand the reach of “The Voice.” I hope you’ll join us for this powerful conference in Knoxville, June 20–23.
