Installation Complete! COMPUTER CONFIGURATIONS FOR RUNNING “MYITLAB” System Requirements: Operating Systems Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Microsoft Windows Vista Note: myitlab can be run on a Mac with an Intel-based architecture, running under Windows via a program such as Boot Camp or Parallels. Browsers Internet Explorer 6.0 Internet Explorer 7.0 *Note: myitlab does not yet support Internet Explorer 8 (IE8). If you are using Internet Explorer 8 and experiencing issues, please visit our Online Knowledge Base for helpful tips on using IE8 with myitlab.

Open Internet Explorer and click Tools > Internet Options > Security tab 2. If you are using Windows Vista, uncheck the "Enable Protected Mode" box 3. On the Security tab, click the Trusted Sites icon, then the Sites button 4. Uncheck the box that says "Require server verification..." 5. Where it says Add this Web site to the zone, enter the following addresses (including the * symbol), clicking Add after each one: *.pearsoned.com *.pearsoncmg.com *.myitlab.com 6. After allowing those three sites, click OK, then OK again Note: When navigating to a site in your Trusted sites zone, you will receive a Security Warning. Simply click "Yes" to load the page.

Pop-up Blockers 1. Open Internet Explorer and click Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Pop-up Blocker Settings, which will open the Pop-up Blocker Settings window 2. Where it says Address of website to allow, enter the following addresses (including the * symbol) clicking the Add button after each one: *.pearsoned.com *.pearsoncmg.com *.myitlab.com 3. After adding those three sites to the Allowed sites list, click Close 4. Click View > Toolbars (or Tools > Toolbars)

Uncheck anything in the menu on the right other than Menu Bar

Note: Many toolbars (including Yahoo and Google) use pop-up blockers, which is why they may need to be disabled while you are using myitlab. The menu will close after each item you choose, so you will have to go back to View > Toolbars each time. Cookies 1. Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools > Internet Options, then click on the Privacy tab 2. Click the Sites button, which will open the Per Site Privacy Actions window 3. Where it says Address of website, enter the following addresses, clicking Allow after each one: *.pearsoned.com *.pearsoncmg.com *.myitlab.com  Deleting the temporary internet files and cookies that have been stored by your browser commonly corrects these problems. Please complete the instructions below for the browser you are using. If you do not know what version you are using, and click Help > About [browser name] to see your version number. Click Delete Files 4. In the pop-up that appears, put a check mark in the box beside Delete All Offline Content, then click OK Note: This may take a few minutes to process. Please wait for the files to delete before you continue. 5. Next, click Delete Cookies and click OK 6. When the cookies have finished deleting, click OK Internet Explorer 7: Delete Cache and Cookies 1. Open Internet Explorer 2. Click Tools > Delete Browsing History...

5. When the cookies have finished deleting, click Close Firefox: Delete Cache and Cookies 1. Open Firefox and click Tools > Clear Private Data... 2. Be sure that there is a check in the box beside Cache and also in the box beside Cookies 3. Click Clear Private Data Now Note: This may take a few minutes to process. Please wait for the files to delete before you continue. Safari: Delete Cache and Cookies 1. Open Safari and click Edit > Empty Cache... and then click Empty Note: This may take a few minutes to process. Please wait for the files to delete before clicking Done. 2. Click Edit > Preferences... 3. In the Security window that opens, click the Show Cookies button 4. Click the Remove All button, then click Remove All again, then click Done 5. Close the Security window Still Having Trouble? If you continue to have difficulty loading content of the site you are using after deleting your browser's cache and cookies, please proceed to one of the Answers below and follow the instructions regarding your browser's security settings for the site you are using. Content Advisor 1. Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools > Internet Options, then click on the Content tab 2. If the button for Content Advisor says Enable, no change is needed If the content advisor shows a Disable button, then it may cause errors when you use myitlab. You may either disable the Content Advisor, or follow the instructions below to allow the sites

used by your course to bypass the Content Advisor. 1. 2. 3.

Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools > Internet Options, then click on the Content tab Click the Settings button, then click the Approved Sites tab Where it says Allow this website, enter each of the following sites (including the * symbol), clicking Always after each one: *.pearsoned.com *.pearsoncmg.com *.myitlab.com 4. After those three sites have been added to the list of approved sites, click OK, then OK again Note: The Content Advisor may be password protected. If this is the case, please ask the person who enabled the Content Advisor on the computer you are using for assistance. If you or the person who set it has forgotten that password, please visit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/155609 for assistance.

Security Software and Firewalls Some security programs and firewalls are so restrictive that they may block multimedia content in myitlab. If your firewall or security program has the equivalent to a trusted sites list, you may be able to leave your security on if you add the following sites and IP address to that list: *.pearsoned.com *.pearsoncmg.com *.myitlab.com 209.202.161.240 Please contact the technical support department for your security program if you need help with this step, or temporarily disable your computer's security while using myitlab. If you are using a firewall such as McAfee or ZoneAlarm on your computer, you may need to

change some settings to ensure myitlab works correctly on your computer. First, note that myitlab communicates using the HTTP protocol via Port 80, so computers that are accessing myitlab must be able to communicate via this port. (Most computers are able to do so, by default). The full domain name and IP address for myitlab are:  

Name: myitlab.pearsoned.com Address: 209.202.161.240 Other firewall settings that may be appropriate to consider for your computer to ensure myitlab works properly:  

Allow iexplore.exe access to *.pearsoned.com (or myitlab.pearsoned.com or the myitlab IP address, depending on your firewall) Allow TAIT3.exe access to *.pearsoned.com (or myitlab.pearsoned.com or the myitlab IP address above, depending on your firewall)

Also note that some firewalls may restrict the type of files downloaded from the Internet. Filters preventing the following types of files from downloading should be removed:   

Before you start taking exams, step through the myitlab Installation Wizard (http://myitlab.pearsoncmg.com/webwiz/wizard.asp) to install the myitlab simulation player, Adobe Flash, Adobe Reader, and the myitlab simulation files.
