Introduction
The Polar Science Module
IRRESISTIBLE is an European project on teacher training, combining formal and informal learning focused on Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). The goal of the project is to design activities that foster the involvement of students and the public in the process of RRI through its six dimensions: • Engagement • Open access • Science education • Ethics • Gender equality • Governance The project aims to increase students’ content knowledge about research into the school program and to foster the discussion about RRI issues by the introduction of relevant topics as Polar science.
Methodology In each of the ten partner countries a Community of Learners (CoL) science teachers, education experts, exhibition experts from museums/ science centres and researchers developed a thematic module, tested by students and teachers on-theclassroom during the phase I of the project (2014/2015). In the year 2015/2016 will start the 2nd phase, where national and international modules improved will be tested.

Polar science was one of the cutting edge Evaluate Earth's health themes choose to through polar regions develop a module, proving to be an outstanding context for discussion of the dimensions of RRI. The module purposes the analysis of scientific papers from Portuguese authors or co-authors. Responsible Research and Innovation in Portuguese Polar Science

The module purposes the analysis of scientific papers from Por tuguese authors or co-authors. It is intended that students conclude about the relevance of the research for the advance of knowledge in Polar Science and identify RRI practices. The module was tested in two 10th grade classes and it’s development was boosting through a blog created for this purpose https://cienciapolar.wordpress.com
Polar Science Interactive Exhibithion As product of the module development students have to build interactive exhibition the • anAt the end of each trial, the correcton category was revealed subjects recorded the theme, openand to the general public. accuracy of their guess. The objects forcategory the exhibition should focused largely on research reported in the scientific paper analyzed, in its analysis related to RRI and the recommendations suggested by the students for the six dimensions of RII.
• At the end of each trial, the correct category was revealed and the subjects recorded the accuracy of their category guess.
Discussion The analysis of scientific papers it is noticed positively which far exceeded initial expectations of students by difficulties arising from language and scientific methodology.

The students learned more about polar science and RRI and developed skills of knowledge, reasoning and communication. In a future similar experience, the time for the development of the work should be longer and the dissemination and exhibition venue be more extensive to the public so that students feel real social actors, fully able to contribute to raising awareness and community education.
The project has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no 612367.
