Mission Capture Wyoming’s Stranded Oil
•Applied research •Technology transfer •Technology demonstration in real world environments ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY INSTITUTE
EORI Focus on EOR • Detailed field characterization and simulation • Better definition and description of natural fracturing • Improve conformance (Gels, Polymers, Foams) • Development of CO2 EOR candidates • CO2 supply and transportation • Low salinity flooding candidates in Wyoming • Chemical flooding in Minnelusa ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY INSTITUTE
EORI Focus • Primary focus is the Tensleep and Minnelusa (60% of EORI resources) • Assist small Wyoming operators (20% of EORI resources) • Complete research (20% of EORI resources) • New organization and culture allow for effective implementation of multi-disciplinary projects • Strategic staffing will allow EORI to add new initiatives ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY INSTITUTE

Tensleep Workshops • First discussed in 2010 • Outline of workshops generated during 2011 • This is the third of three workshops that have been sponsored by EORI – June 5 & 6, Waterflooding, Cody, Wyoming – October 22 & 23, Overview of EOR, Cody, Wyoming – June 10 & 11, ROZ & CO2 EOR, Casper, Wyoming ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY INSTITUTE
Tensleep Workshops • Focused on operators • Target technical staff with 1 to 5 years of experience • Limit number of participants in the workshop • Minimize use of equations • Maximize presentation of data and examples from the Tensleep ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY INSTITUTE
“Take Aways” • Develop a general understanding of the historical application of waterflooding in Tensleep Reservoirs in Wyoming. • Expand understanding of the characteristics of Tensleep reservoirs that affect flood design. • Understand concepts involved with waterflood optimization practices related to Tensleep WF operations. ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY INSTITUTE
“Take Aways” • Identify opportunities to improve water management practices related to Tensleep waterflooding operations. • Generally understand economic justification for workovers, recompletions, conversions, and drilling new wells related to waterflood operations. ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY INSTITUTE
This is Our Third Workshop • Please ask questions and participate in discussion • Provide suggestions for additional work that may be sponsored by EORI • We will summarize your questions and comments as we proceed through each discussion • Please participate in the course evaluations throughout the workshop ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY INSTITUTE
Summarize Action Items • We will compile recommendations and ideas for cooperative work at the end of each discussion • The recommendations and ideas will be presented and prioritized in the wrap-up at the end of the second day.
