NOVA HS SELECTS NINTH GRADE STUDENT LEADERS Nova HS’s Ninth Grade Student Leaders (NGSL) have been busy helping organize several events at the school since being selected by Ninth Grade Academy (NGA) teacher leaders. Ninth Grade Student Leaders with the NGA Coordinator and the NGA Teacher Leaders had their picture taken for the 2013-2014 Titan Yearbook. In November students helped Mentoring Tomorrow’s Leaders (MTL) sell tickets for the Faculty vs. Student Flag Football Game. They even volunteered to work the concession stand during the game. Students have designed the NGA - 9th grade t-shirt and hope to begin selling the shirts in January. They also helped to organize the First Semester Scholar of the Month celebration for twenty students. Ninth grade teachers selected students from their team to be named Scholar of the Month. Students were invited to a celebration in honor of their scholastic achievements. They received a certificate, Titan water bottle, and sweet treats (cupcakes and candy). Each student also had a picture taken with Nova’s principal, Mr. LaCasse. NGSL’s latest project is creating a board of recognition/NGA news in the 9th grade office.
