JD308 Student Records/Business Office Assistant Job Description Purpose:

The Student Records/Business Office Assistant maintains student records and assists with various aspects of the finance department.

High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in an office or formal training in accounting. Demonstrates proficiency in typing/keyboard skills. Proficiency in using various software, including word processing and spreadsheets. Desire to continue career improvement.

Provide support to assist with the efficient operation of daily tasks. Communicate efficiently with all the members of the school district and community. Requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods. Occasionally requires the ability to move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials. Occasionally requires the ability to stoop, bend and reach. Requires the ability to use and/or operate a computer or office machines for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to occasionally work in stressful environments. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. Must be able to lift 25 pounds repeatedly.

Prepare student files for transfers out of district and send transcript requests to colleges, etc. Research and process requests for student transcripts and immunization records. Maintain an orderly filing system, and facilitate document retention for student records. Collect and process transcript fees. Balance daily. Take credit card payments. Assist with eFunds. Assist with student management year end close out. Assist with student management new year rollover. Process accounts that need turned over to the Kansas Setoff Program. Provide filing support for human resource and business office as needed. Verify student fee accounts for accuracy. Process and update fee collections on collections web site. Run daily reports from Fee Management file for lunch web and office payments and post accordingly. Adhere to all district health and safety policies. Other duties as assigned by the Budget Finance Manager or Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications of the position or provide needed assistance in the department.
