SCHOLARSHIP AGREEMENT (Juris Doctor Program) THIS AGREEMENT IS MADE BY AND BETWEEN:
__________________________________, single/married to ______________________________, and residing at ______________________________________________________,Philippines, hereinafter called the GRANTEE; -andSCHOOL OF LAW AND GOVERNANCE, UNIVERSITY OF ASIA and the PACIFIC or “SLG” for short¸ with principal office located at Pearl Drive, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, represented by its Secretary/Vice Dean/Dean, __________________________________. RECITALS: 1.
SLG has approved the award to GRANTEE of a scholarship grant consisting of: 25% Discount on tuition 50% Discount on tuition 75% Discount on tuition 100% Discount on tuition Non-Tuition Grants: ___________________________________
2.GRANTEE hereby accepts the above scholarship grant and agrees to be bound by the following terms and conditions: I.
Academic Load 1.
GRANTEE shall enroll immediately in the semester following the award of the scholarship, and shall maintain a continuous regular full load prescribed by the Juris Doctor (JD) program for each semester. GRANTEE shall not defer enrollment except for valid reasons such as: 1.1 Poor health, as certified by the school-accredited physician; 1.2 Serious personal problem which may affect the GRANTEE in his/her studies for the semester. In no case shall GRANTEE defer enrollment for more than two (2) consecutive semesters.

The scholarship grant maybe extended at the option of SLG for the summer should GRANTEE be required to take subjects in accordance with the JD curriculum, but only if said subjects are not offered during the regular semester or their schedules conflict with those of other subjects.
Leave of Absence 1.
GRANTEE may not go on leave of absence except for valid reasons similar to those for deferment of enrollment (Part I, no. 1). Page 1 of 3

The scholarship grant shall be automatically terminated if GRANTEE goes on Absence Without Official Leave (AWOL).
Dropping of Subjects 1.
GRANTEE shall not drop any subject except for valid reasons and provided his/her unit load does not fall below the full load for the semester as prescribed by the JD curriculum.
2.
GRANTEE shall submit his/her reasons for dropping for approval by SLG, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. In no case shall GRANTEE drop more than one (1) subject in a semester, nor may GRANTEE drop the same subject in two (2) consecutive semesters.
Scholastic Requirements 1.
GRANTEE must maintain: a. a cumulative GWA no lower than 82 or 2.25, evaluated at the end of each school year; and b. a grade of at least 80% or 2.25 in each enrolled academic subject.

Failure in any subject shall mean forfeiture of the scholarship grant for the following semester.
Mentoring GRANTEE shall fully avail of mentoring from semester to semester as a way to sustain a high level of academic performance and, above all, to be able to achieve the UA&P vision of becoming a liberally educated professional who will live and spread the Christian spirit in the workplace and society. Failure to avail of mentoring during any given semester shall be a ground for cancellation of the scholarship.

Disciplinary Record GRANTEE must hold a clean disciplinary record during his/her stay at UA&P. A finding of disciplinary infraction for which GRANTEE is meted a disciplinary sanction shall be a ground for termination of this agreement.
VII.
Double Grants GRANTEE shall not avail of another scholarship that interferes with his/her obligations under this agreement.
VIII.
Voluntary Discontinuance of Scholarship Should GRANTEE decide not to complete the program to transfer to another university or learning institution, he/she shall pay SLG/UA&P the total amount of the scholarship. The Registrar’s Office will not release his/her transfer credentials unless he/she has made full settlement to the Finance Management and Reporting (FMR) Office.

1.
The scholarship shall be for four (4) school years or for such extended period, provided the extension is due to valid reasons duly approved by SLG, such as deferment (Part I, no. 1), leave of absence(Part II, no. 1) or dropping of subject (Part III).
2.
GRANTEE’s compliance with the terms and conditions of this agreement shall be subject to periodic review. SLG reserves the right to terminate the scholarship if GRANTEE fails to comply with said terms and conditions.
Other Conditions 1.
The scholarship grant shall be automatically terminated upon a finding that GRANTEE made a misrepresentation or false declaration in the JD Scholarship Application Form or any document submitted therewith or in any of the admission or enrollment documents.
2.
Except for grants awarded purely on the basis of academic merit or performance, the scholarship shall continue for as long as GRANTEE’s financial position has not improved substantially, as determined by SLG.
