Vacancy: Project Coordinator LIVESEED Job title: Research & Innovation Project Assistant Reports to: Research & Innovation Manager Job purpose: LIVESEED is a project funded through the Horizon 2020 framework programme. It started in June 2017 and will run until May 2021. The objective of LIVESEED is to improve the transparency and competitiveness of the organic seed and breeding sector and encourage greater use of organic seed. LIVESEED has 49 partners covering 18 European countries. The consortium includes multiple actors: research institutes, breeding companies, seed companies, organic associations (farmers, processors, retailers) and national authorities. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and administration of the project, as well as communication and dissemination. On the longer term, it is envisaged that the Project Coordinator will also develop expertise in organic plant breeding and related EU policies. Follow-up project implementation, make sure the project runs smoothly, handle any issues that arise Organise meetings: annual project meetings in different partner countries as well conference calls. Organise workshops in collaboration with the Policy Unit of IFOAM EU Produce minutes of meetings and reports about project outcomes. Coordinate drafting of technical reports with Work Package leaders Contribute to the financial management of the project. Keep overview of the budget and assist partners in preparing financial reports Coordinate dissemination activities with partners. Communicate about LIVESEED on website and social media. Communicate about project progress with the European Commission. Make sure LIVESEED fulfils contractual obligations towards the European Commission. Manage the project’s intranet space and help project partners in using it Traveling in order to participate in project meetings, workshops and project partner meeting.
2. Follow EU legislative processes related to seed (10% - 20% on longer-term) 2.1. Monitor policy developments related to seed and plant breeding, contribute to IFOAM EU positions and communicate about it with IFOAM EU’s internal structures and members

Master’s degree or equivalent
Experience - Essential • • •
At least three years of relevant work experience in project management Strong computer skills (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) Effective communication skills in English including verbal and written skills

Knowledge of other languages such as French or German is an asset Work experience in Non-Governmental-Organisations Basic knowledge of organic agriculture, seed and plant breeding, and related EU policies Understanding of the working methods of EU institutions

Full time position for 3 years Only EU citizens or in possession of valid EU working permit Based at the IFOAM EU office in Brussels Monday to Friday, 38 hours/week Salary between 25.000€ and 33.000€ annual gross salary depending on qualifications Extra-legal benefits such as meal voucher, health insurance, transport fees reimbursement Employment period: start as soon as possible, no later than 1 January 2019
