JOB VACANCY IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN – LAW FIRM – BRISTOL, BS1 Posting Date: 24 June 2016 Closing Date: 31 July 2016 Position: IT Support Technician Salary: Dependent upon experience Job Type: Permanent Start Date: ASAP This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to learn and develop a wide variety of IT skills at a medium sized Bristol law firm. We are looking for a high quality 1st and 2nd line support technician who would also have the opportunity of dealing with some 3rd line support work. As well as providing day to day technical support and training for approximately 60 staff this role will also involve some web design/maintenance, hardware and software configuration, user account configuration, project implementation and rollouts, and more. Experience in the following would be advantageous:
Active Directory; Group Policy Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012; MS Office 2007, 2010, 2013; Windows 7, 8, 8.1; VMWare; Citrix; Backup technologies such as Backup Exec and Veeam; Bighand / Digital Dictation software; MS Exchange Server; Pc repairs, upgrades, and rebuilds; Printers and MFD’s. ITIL experience; software deployment/rollout; Programming skills may be advantageous;
Essential skills:
Educated to degree standard or equivalent; Experience of working in an office environment and able to demonstrate a good understanding of office procedures and etiquette; Excellent attention to detail; Sound grammatical and mathematical ability; A proven ability to provide a structured method of problem solving, diagnostics, and technical solutions. Able to communicate effectively at all levels; Ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain service levels; Ability to take ownership of user problems and deal with them proactively; Ability to multi-task and deal with a variety of jobs at any given time; Good organisational skills and the ability to work on own initiative is important; An excellent telephone manner is essential;
