John McCartney Candidate for Zoning Board of Appeals, New Fairfield John is currently on the New Fairfield Zoning Board of Appeals. John has been a full-time resident of New Fairfield since 2004. He and his wife, Khris Hall, have five children, two of whom graduated from NFHS. John graduated with a degree in business from the University of Iowa. Prior to his involvement with the New Fairfield community, John was a CPA, a business consultant and business coach. He was also a trainer and developed and delivered business training to companies and the public. This included programs on strategic & tactical planning and budgeting. John has worked with organizations of all sizes, from small entrepreneurial companies to billion-dollar international organizations. Since retiring, John has served on the New Fairfield Police Committee and the New Fairfield Board of Appeals. John is one of the founding members of Candlewood Voices, the group that worked to keep chemicals out of Candlewood Lake. John understands the importance of commitment to the Zoning Board of Appeals and its important role in serving the all the citizens of New Fairfield. If elected, John pledges to: Continue to work with the Zoning Board of Appeals to exam the unique conditions on a case-by-case basis and decide each case before the board independently. Promote changes in town zoning regulations that will benefit the town overall. Work to help in the revitalization of town center.
