GRAPHIC AND Editorial STANDARDS
University Identity
3
Overview
The Need for Graphic Identity
Graphic standards for Johnson & Wales University (JWU) help maintain the highest levels of institutional identity. Proper application of these standards ensures that correspondence, marketing materials, recruitment efforts, program and policy information, advertising and other communications enhance and support the unique qualities and strengths of JWU as an educational organization. This guide provides approved methods and manner of using JWU logos, identifiers and other visual elements. The standards and guidelines are applicable universitywide to all external and internal communications, including electronic media and websites.
The application of graphic standards to communications strengthens the visual identity elements that support JWU’s identity. Consistent and regular use of logos and other identifiers enhance the university’s position as a unique educational institution and provides the basis for a positive experience with the organization. The graphic specifications in this guide are intended for use by the JWU community, its administration, staff, faculty, students and alumni. It is also a guide for outside vendors working with the university. Variations or changes to specifications are not permitted.
Specific templates have been created for a variety of graphic applications including publications, signage, and other visual media. Adherance to these templates will improve the consistancy of Johnson & Wales University identifiers and its visual identity. In general, designs should use clean white space and bold graphic elements to present a contemporary look to the university. Wherever applicable, a connection should be made between print and Web design to maintain a consistent image for the university.

University Colors The university colors are blue and white. They are used with a primary gold accent color for university identifiers. These colors are intended for use in all printed and electronic material regardless of print ink or paper stock. Electronic reproduction must match the print color standards as closely as possible.
Spot Color Matching
Four-Color Printing blue

PMS 662
For spot color matching using the Pantone Matching System (PMS) of color identification, the blue is defined as PMS 662 and gold accent is defined as PMS 124. For four-color printing (CMYK), the blue is defined as 100C/72M/0Y/18K and the gold accent is defined as 0C/28M/100Y/6K.

University Color Palette The Johnson & Wales University color palette is an approved range of colors, centered on the primary blue and white, with gold as the primary accent color. The palette is intended to provide image consistency in various media, and is the only authorized color selection for print and electronic media. The secondary accent colors are complementary to the primary university colors and provide a range of hues, screen values and saturation to designers, vendors and others who create communication material. The primary university colors are blue (PMS 662) and white. The primary accent color is gold (PMS 124). These color selections are an essential part of the university identity and their use is carefully detailed in these Standards. Secondary accent colors are presented as PMS colors with accompanying numerical CMYK ink blends. These colors are shown at: 100 percent (solid); 70% screen value; and solid with 20% black. These colors are intended to be used in combination with the university primary colors or in full-color designs as a stand-alone color selection. In addition, the color palette includes a selection of cool and warm grays, as well as several “neutral” colors. The grays and neutral colors are typically used as background “washes” for both print and Web layout. A common use would include a background for “sidebar” information. The PMS and CMYK specifications listed above must be followed to ensure a consistent representation of the approved color palette. Some variation on printed material may occur due to the inherent differences in spot color and process inks, as well as paper stock selection. However, every effort must be made to ensure a uniform color reproduction.

University Logo
University Logo (preferred version — horizontal configuration)
The university logo is JWU’s primary identifier. It must appear on all university internal and external publications, correspondence, signage and documents. The university logo consists of two elements: a graphic symbol, the crest, derived from the university seal; and the university name. The crest is a two-color imprint, using the official blue (PMS 662) and gold accent (PMS 124) colors. The upper “dragon graphic,” taken from the flag of Wales, is placed on a white background. The lower blue and gold cross is taken from the Johnson family crest. The second element in the logo, the university name, is printed in black in the Johnson & Wales proprietary font.

University Logo – Alternate Stacked Version* (restricted use only)
The logo elements must not be altered in any way. See Using the University Logo for specific applications. NOTE: The preferred configuration for the university logo is the horizontal format as shown, and should always be displayed as such. The alternate, “stacked” version (also shown) is reserved for specific architectural applications, or for print-related format constraints. For more information, contact University Design & Editorial Services, Ed Pereira, art director, 401-598-2362,
[email protected]. secondary Signatures Colleges and campuses can identify themselves more clearly in printed communications by attaching their names as shown. Administrative, academic and other campus departments may also identify themselves by the addition of a second line to the college or campus identity. These variations of the university logo are authorized for use on stationery, memos, print publications and other correspondence. For signage, posters and other campus event media, the campus department can be used in place of the campus name.

3/13/14 — www.jwu.edu/standards
Using the University Logo The university logo must be used as an identifier as shown. It consists of a graphic element, the crest and the university name. In most applications, only the official blue (PMS 662) and gold accent (PMS 124) colors, at 100 percent saturation, may be used. The university name must appear in black. The area of the top half of the crest (behind the dragon graphic) must be in solid white (see right). The minimum size for this signature is 2 ¼" in width. NOTE: For maximum clarity and identity, the full color logo on a white background is always the preferred usage. It should be placed on a white or light colored background, ensuring that the logo remains readable and distinct against the background color. When placed on a dark colored background or photograph, the logo elements can be presented as reversed white elements as shown. Send these applications to University Design & Editorial Services for review. Direct inquiries to Ed Pereira, art director, 401598-2362,
[email protected].

OPTIONS FOR ONE- AND TWO-COLOR offset PRINTING (One Color, White Background) One-color versions of the logo for offset printing are shown at right. Under this constraint, the blue (PMS 662) or black are the only acceptable colors for depicting the logo. Use the one-color version only in a one- or two-color print piece when the three-color version is not an option. (black or pms 662 background) When used with a black or PMS 662 background, the logo elements can be presented as reversed white elements as shown above (for dark backgrounds). This also applies to screen values of 50 percent or greater for black or PMS 662. Note that in this format, the background color comes through inside the crest area.

Unacceptable Use of the University Logo The following examples of the logo are not acceptable. Use only one- or three-color artwork.
The relationship of the size of the crest to type has been carefully designed. Do not alter the proportions of either element.
Never abbreviate the name of the university or remove the word UNIVERSITY from the logo.
Use the logo only in the official blue and gold accent with official JWU typefaces.
Do not introduce other typography, except for secondary copy as described in the University Logo section. Do not add drop shadows to the logo elements.
Do not introduce any other shapes into the logo configuration.

3/13/14 — www.jwu.edu/standards
Using the University Crest as a Graphic Element The university crest may be used as a graphic element in publication design. However, it must only be used in the official blue, or reversed white on a dark background, or in black. Values include 100 percent saturation or as a screened value of the colors to depict a “watermark” effect.
University Crest as a Graphic Element printed materials
Lorem Ipsum Dolor Sit Amet
When used as a graphic element, the crest can break off the edge of document pages, Web pages, banners, or other print and electronic materials. The crest as a graphic element is not a substitute for the full university logo. It is intended to be a design element only. The full color JWU logo is the primary identifier on university publications and documents. In most cases, both elements will be required for proper identification.

University Seal (Two-color)
Using the University Seal As a formal university identifier, the seal must not be altered in any fashion or manner. It must always appear in its entirety and may only appear in the following official university print and Web materials: the catalog, student handbook, employee handbook, commencement and convocation collateral, and chancellor communication materials. The university seal represents Johnson & Wales’ roots. The year at the top of the crest, 1914, is the year that Johnson & Wales was founded by Gertrude I. Johnson and Mary T. Wales. The dragon of St. George on the upper portion of the crest is taken from the flag of Wales, while the lower cross is taken from the Johnson family crest. In order to maintain clarity, the minimum size that the seal can be depicted is one inch in diameter. Changing the circular shape is prohibited. The preferred version of the seal is a two-color imprint using the official blue (PMS 662) and gold accent color inside the lower half of the crest (PMS 124). The one-color version using the official blue (PMS 662) is also acceptable.

Publication Design Using consistent graphic elements for brochures, booklets, flyers and other printed material helps reinforce the university’s image and presents a familiar face to its various constituents. The following pages provide guidelines for designing publications. Careful attention must be paid to the preferred positioning of the university logo in either the upper left or bottom right corner. The university logo must not be altered or changed in any way, nor can it be embellished by additional graphic or typographic elements except as specified in the “University Identity” section of the Graphic Standards. Full bleed or cropped photography or other images may be used. The title or subject of the publications must be prominently displayed in a central portion of the cover. Print publications should be designed using clean white space and bold graphic elements to present a contemporary look to the university. Backgrounds can also accommodate the use of the university’s primary blue (at full strength) as a graphic element. For brochures and booklets, color photography should be used to depict the dynamic nature of a JWU education as well as student life and geographic location. When applicable, a connection should be made between print and Web design to maintain a consistent image of the university. For more information on publication design parameters, refer to the University Color Palette and Typography sections of the Graphics Standards, or contact Ed Pereira, art director, 401-598-2362,
[email protected].

Imagery
The full-color university logo is to be used, preferably on a white background. For most print material the logo should appear on either the top left or bottom right of a brochure cover, poster or flyer.
Imagery includes all aspects of visual information such as photography, color usage and graphic elements. Photography — For most projects, use images from the JWU Image Library. Cropped photos are typically laid out within a rectilinear grid (see samples). Silhouetting images on a white field is also acceptable when such an effect enhances the overall message. Color — The primary university colors are blue and white. Whenever possible, these colors are to be used and reflected in all university print collateral. Secondary palette colors, including warm and cool grays, are also available for use in headline type, boxed content information or as background washes. Graphic Elements — Graphic elements include the use of • colored rectangles to highlight specific content • background gradients and washes • the university crest as a watermark or ghosted treatment

More than 1,000 students universitywide choose to transfer to Johnson & Wales from other colleges and universities each year. When you transfer to JWU through Admission Promise you’ll benefit in many ways, including
• A ffordable tuition — transferring to JWU as a junior means your tuition will be more affordable because you’ll earn your bachelor’s degree in two years. • S cholarships — JWU offers many different types of scholarships, including a Transfer Scholarship for students who’ve completed 30 semester hours or 45 quarter-credit hours or more at a previous college with a minimum 3.0 GPA. For details about this and other available scholarships, go to www.jwu.edu/scholarships.
To take advantage of the Admission Promise program, you must be a first-time freshman in your first semester at one of the 13 Colorado Community Colleges participating in the program. A first-time freshman is defined as having no college credit enrollments after graduation from high school or after earning a GED. There are no high school GPA or ACT/SAT test requirements to participate in the program. Once you are admitted to the Admission Promise program, your continued participation depends on meeting its requirements.
• A ccess to advisors — JWU will provide you with an advisor to assist you every step of the way with selecting the courses you’ll need to earn your associate degree and transfer to JWU as a junior.
2012–2013 TRANSFER PROGRAM

Multimedia can be a powerful learning tool for students. Media appeals to students with auditory and visual learning styles and can also motivate most to become engaged in content. For instructors, multimedia opens up many possibilities for presentation of content.
What could you do? With multimedia, the possibilities are endless: • Record a PowerPoint presentation with narration and imagery. • Use audio in your course, such as recording an interview, reading in a foreign language, or playing a musical piece. • Use video in your course, such as a virtual tour or interview with an expert. • Record a live presentation or lecture and let students watch it outside of class. • Record a demonstration of a computerbased task.
Multimedia Consultations Online Learning provides training on equipment, personal assistance in the Academic Technology Station, and multimedia project assistance. Academic Technology Stations Use workstations equipped with the latest technology and tools for creating, producing and editing media. These PC and Mac stations can be reserved on all campuses during normal business hours.

Health Insurance
Employee Health Coverage Employee health insurance is provided by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of R.I. (BCBSRI) HealthMate Coast-to-Coast. It is the university’s goal to maintain a health insurance benefit that provides employees and their eligible family members with quality coverage as well as the flexibility of choice in selecting health care providers. We believe that the HealthMate Coast-to-Coast plan is currently meeting the needs of our employees as intended. HealthMate Coast-to-Coast will continue to provide employee coverage in two ways:
Pre-existing Conditions HealthMate Coast-to-Coast has no exclusions for pre-existing conditions. You have benefits for all covered expenses as of your first day of participation.
in-network
Pre-authorization
Comprised of the local Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) network of each state’s Blue Cross & Blue Shield plan across the country, the Blue Card system allows you to access care from any provider in each state’s PPO network and receive maximum benefits for eligible services.
Pre-authorization is recommended for some services (reference your Blue Cross & Blue Shield of R.I. Healthmate Coast-to-Coast Benefit Booklet for services that recommend pre-authorization). Your failure to obtain pre-authorization may result in you incurring significant financial penalties.
It is to your advantage to choose the services of in-network providers. When you select an in-network provider, you • only have to pay one low co-payment for most covered services and supplies; • don’t have to file claim forms; and • aren’t required to pay for expenses and then wait for reimbursement. RemindeR: For those employees outside of the Rhode Island area, you must access providers in the Blue Card PPO Network.
out-of-network Although you receive the maximum benefits utilizing network providers, you have the freedom to go outside of the network to see any doctor you choose. There are certain provisions that apply when you use out-of-network providers: • You will have to pay a $200 annual deductible per person (family coverage requires that three family members reach the $200 per person deductible) before the plan will pay benefits.
what’s nEw foR 2010? • Benefit limitations have been removed from behavioral health services in the areas of mental health and chemical dependency. (Please refer to the Mental Health Parity section of the enclosed Summary of Material Modifications.) • Full-time students age 19 and over who are on a medically necessary leave of absence from school may be eligible to continue dependent health coverage. (Please refer to the Michelle’s Law section of the enclosed Summary of Material Modifications.) • New pharmacy benefits manager. (Please refer to page 9 for details.) • Detailed health plan coverage information can be found in the Benefit Booklet, located in the university’s public folders, under Administration/ Human Resources & Payroll/Benefits/Group
• After you meet your deductible, the plan generally reimburses your expenses at 80 percent of reasonable and customary charges for out-of-network provider charges. (This is called the regular out-of-network benefit.)

copy of the Benefit Booklet can also be obtained from the university’s Department of Human Resources & Payroll, or from the HR managers
Reduce your prescription costs and trips to the pharmacy Your health insurance plan includes a Mail Order Prescription Program. Most drugs that you take for an extended period of time (sometimes referred to as “maintenance” drugs) can be purchased through CVS Caremark (Caremark), our convenient mail order program. You can order a maximum of up to a 90-day supply of most medications for two co-payments. Beginning January 1, 2010, CVS Caremark will become the new Pharmacy Benefits Manager for BCBSRI health plans. For details on this transition, please refer to the “Pharmacy Update” communication that was mailed to your home in September, or view it electronically in the university’s public folders under Administration/Human Resources & Payroll/ Benefits/Group Health and Dental Insurance Benefit.
Example of your savings A 90-day supply of a non-preferred brand drug filled at the pharmacy with a current co-payment of $40 will cost you a grand total of $120. But if you order a 90-day supply of a non-preferred brand name drug with the same $40 co-payment using the mail order program, your cost will be $80. You save $40! Getting started: Ask your doctor to write two prescriptions: a one-month supply to be filled immediately at your local pharmacy and a three-month supply with refills for Caremark. You will need to provide Caremark with a mail order patient profile form. Patient profile forms are available online at www.bcbsri.com and are available in the Department of Human Resources & Payroll. Ordering refills: You can order refills 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week by contacting Caremark toll-free at 1-866-329-3053, online through your Blue Cross & Blue Shield of R.I. account at www.bcbsri.com, or by mail using the reorder form included with your first shipment. Please note that you will need to supply a credit card number when ordering online.
Receiving your prescriptions: Your medications are mailed to your home by the United States Postal Service or United Parcel Service with no delivery charge up to 14 days after you mail your order. Express delivery is available for an additional fee. To allow for special handling or unforeseen shipping delays, we recommend that you have at least a two-week supply of your medication on hand before you place your initial order or request refills.
Remember to utilize generic drugs You can maximize your pharmacy benefit and substantially lower your out-of-pocket cost by choosing generic drugs. While you may not be familiar with the name, a generic drug is essentially the same drug as its higher priced, heavily advertised, brand name equivalent. It has the same active ingredients and is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It has passed rigorous tests to ensure that it is safe and effective. Discuss your prescription drug options with your doctor to ensure the best possible course of treatment. If a brand name drug is prescribed, ask your doctor or pharmacist if a generic alternative is available.

About This Guide The Event Templates Guide provides a user-friendly compilation of event resource documents/templates and guidelines to serve as a reference tool to internal constituents planning or hosting events. The goal is to maintain brand standards that align at all times with the university’s mission and guiding principles.
Event Templates
Where to Find Event Templates
The templates provided in this addendum are to be used for printed materials and electronic notifications needed for special events occuring on any/all campuses.
All templates are provided as Microsoft Word documents, and are available on the university’s J drive, using the path:
Included are templates for
J:\University Communications\University DES\ External Shared Folders\University Event Templates
• formal menu cards • printed and electronic invitations, single card • folded printed invitations and programs • name tags (Avery #5392) • name tents (Avery #5309)
For any questions about the Event Templates Guide, please contact Jennifer Fustino at 401-598-4676,

GRAPHIC AND Editorial STANDARDs
Signage
53
Overview JWU signage includes building identification plaques, wall murals, street banners, event signage and other exterior and interior visual elements. The primary identifier on signage is the university logo. The university seal is not to be used on signage. Also included under the category of building signage (but not shown here) is the use of dimensional lettering, directly mounted to the building’s exterior. Such lettering is typically manufactured in brushed aluminum and peg-bolted to stone or brick. The approved typefaces for such lettering is either Adobe Garamond or Gil Sans, and typically set in all caps. Signage colors displayed here mainly use the primary university colors, blue (PMS 662) and white. (PMS colors are listed in the “University Identity” section of the Graphic Standards.) In addition, the design, typeface and material selections must be consistent for all campus applications. The following examples provide templates for applying university standards to these specific media. To save time and money on these typically large and expensive projects, departments and campuses are asked to work proactively with Design & Editorial Services on preliminary sketches and followthrough. Prior to placing purchase orders, all signage designs must be forwarded for preproduction approval to Ed Pereira, art director, 401-598-2362,
[email protected].
54
3/13/14 — www.jwu.edu/standards
Property Signage Property identification signage includes the university logo, property name and address. This sign may be used at the perimeter or entrance of a campus or on indivudual buildings that are separate from the main campus. Standard sizes for property identification signage are 7' (84") x 32". Other sizes may be appropriate as space dictates. The example below requires the sign panel to sit on a base of stone or concrete.

55
Building Signage: Exterior Street-Level Signs Building identification must be consistent throughout campus, including the style, color and material selection. Individual buildings should be identified by name and by street address (where appropriate). These signs are usually placed near the main entrances to buildings or inside the main entrance on the ground floor. In addition, these signs may be used to identify a common area on the campus if individually named. Standard sizes for exterior street-level signs are are 13" x 23". Other sizes may be appropriate as space dictates.

Street Banners (Lamp Post) Lamp post street banners are designed to be installed individually and affixed to the “street” side of the lamp post. The partial crest, used as a graphic element, is on the inside banner, and is always placed bleeding off the right side of the banner, front and back. If the lamp post is adjacent to a university building or common area, then the building name or location can appear on the inside banner containing the university crest. Standard size for lamp post street banners is 3' x 5'. Other sizes may be appropriate as space dictates.

Parking and Facility Signage Parking and other facility or environmental signage must be consistent throughout campus, including the style, color and material selection. Examples of parking signage are shown below. Other campus signage (e.g., Keep off the Grass) or temporary event signs must also follow these style and color designs. Material selection depends on the permanancy of the sign and/or durability requirements. Standard sizes for parking signage are typically 36" x 24", or 18" x 12". Other sizes (preferably in 3' x 2' proportion) may be appropriate as space dictates.

Vehicle Graphics Graphic design elements used to identify JWU vehicles must follow the general practices outlined in the Standards, including proper use of the university logo, crest and colors. More sophisticated designs using vinyl graphics are possible. The following pages feature the acceptable use of the university logo on a variety of current university vehicles. These include buses, minivans, passenger vans, cargo vans, small vans and pick-up trucks. Other vehicles, such as electric golf cars or maintenance vehicles, must be similarly identified with graphics. Direct any questions and forward all proofs for approval prior to placing purchase orders to Ed Pereira, art director, 401-598-2362,

GRAPHIC AND Editorial STANDARDS
Photography
67
Overview Images used in Johnson & Wales University (JWU) publications or on the website must be of the highest quality available and portray the dynamic and personal nature of JWU, its students, programs and facilities. Photographs should feature the following in horizontal and vertical formats: • action and interaction (e.g., faculty and students) • visually pleasing campus environments • diversity (race, ethnicity, gender and age) • globally-oriented programs • experiential education • commitment to community service • student life • alumni involvement • executive leadership The following guidelines are intended to help create photographs that are clear and properly composed. Whenever possible, a professional photographer should be hired to capture an image for a specific Web or print publication. Project managers should know exactly what they want shot and have a full understanding of the shooting locations and environments to expedite the process. Please note: A Professional Creative Services Contract (PCSC) must be used to engage photographers and videographers and to detail specifics of a photo shoot. The PCSC ensures that contractual rights and responsibilities are understood and agreed to by JWU and the vendor. For more information about photography for print and the Web, contact Lisa Kaufman, photography services coordinator, 401-598-2359,
[email protected].
Model Release Form Model release forms give the university permission to use photographs that contain images of people in print or electronic media. Release forms from students are not necessary as they have already signed a release when they applied for admission. However, every non-student appearing in a photograph or video is required to sign a release form including parents, siblings, visitors, guests of the university, staff, faculty, alumni, etc. There are no exceptions to this policy. Photographs without an accompanying release form cannot be used by the university or in any university media. 68
3/13/14 — www.jwu.edu/standards
Signed form(s) must be kept on file indefinitely by the initiating department or campus, or until the photographs are removed from any potential use. Copies of release forms must accompany any photographs sent to Steve Soper, web communications digital librarian, 401-598-2760,
[email protected], for use in university publications. The form is available on the university J drive. Only JWU staff and faculty can access these files, from a JWU-networked computer. The path is: \\jwu.edu\providence\University Communications\University DES\ External Shared Folder
Professional Creative Services Contract All JWU-contracted photographers and videographers must sign a Professional Creative Services Contract (PCSC), which waives their copyright to all images shot during the contractual timeframe. The contract states that JWU purchases and retains unlimited use of these images. All usage and rights must be specified in detail and signed by the approved procurement officer and the contractor prior to the engagement of services. Contact your campus procurement office for more information.
Photo Shoot Request Form When you require a photographer for a print or Web project, fill out a Photo Shoot Request form and send it to Lisa Kaufman, photography services coordinator, 401-598-2359,
[email protected]. Be sure to list the account number, logistics, purpose of the shoot and eventual use of the photographs so a photographer specializing in that content can be hired. The form is available on the university J drive. Only JWU staff and faculty can access these files, from a JWU-networked computer. The path is: \\jwu.edu\providence\University Communications\University DES\ External Shared Folder

Resolution Photographs that can serve both print and Web applications are the best use of JWU resources. High-resolution photographs are the starting point for design in any medium. Digital photographs must be rendered at a minimum size of one megabyte (1 MB) in tiff or jpeg (jpg) format. Lower resolutions often do not match the quality requirements for print output needs. Typically, highresolution images at this size can be obtained using the “fine” setting on most four-to-five megapixel cameras. A camera that will allow for these minimum settings must be used. For large print reproduction such as on banners and posters, larger photo sizes and higher resolutions are necessary. High-resolution tiff files, sized at 12" x 8", with a resolution of 300dpi, are an ideal format for these applications. Images displayed on Web pages are at a lower resolution, 72 –100dpi. This resolution typically reduces image load time. When optimizing high-resolution photos for Web use, be sure to preserve the original high-resolution image for possible future uses.
High resolution — acceptable for print
Very low resolution — unacceptable for print

Composition and Cropping The following are guidelines to use when shooting photography: Light: Shoot preferably in daylight. Find a moderately shaded area and place the subject(s) out of direct sunlight. Make sure you do not shoot into a light source. Photograph with the light source behind you or slightly to the side so it illuminates the subject matter, not the camera. Indoor: Redirect the flash so it reflects off walls or ceilings rather than directly at the subject. Always use flash settings for indoor subjects, but, if possible, avoid shooting into or around glossy surfaces such as glass, mirrors or windows. Large Groups: Arrange subjects in rows, ensuring that the width of the group is as narrow as possible. Position taller subjects in the back row. Close-ups: Make sure you are in close proximity to the subject. Let the subject(s) fill ½ to ¾ of the picture frame, taking care to avoid distracting backgrounds or elements that appear to grow from a subject’s body, such as flagpoles, trees, etc. Background: Photograph an undesirable background with a shorter depth of field to create a soft focus. Exposure Settings: Know the correct exposure settings for your camera and the subject matter. If possible, shoot multiple images by bracketing the subject matter, exposing at above and below the correct settings.

Grab the torch motivates teens to become conscientious leaders, counsels them in ethics and encourages giving back to others. Through summer camps, a leadership council comprised of inspiring under-30 role models, occasional conferences and even high school curricula, students learn to consider the welfare of others and to value philanthropy. with locations in five states and plans to go international, Dave is fulfilling his goal of developing the next generation into altruistic, thoughtful leaders. By achieving Grab the torch’s mission — to teach future leaders the importance of giving back to the greater global good — everyone benefits: the adolescents who participate in Grab the torch programs as well as the people they go on to impact. — Shannon Robbins

Only JWU staff and faculty can access these files, from a JWU-networked computer. The path is: \\jwu.edu\providence\University Communications\ University DES\External Shared Folder\JWU Logos\ Wildcat Logos Within each folder are multiple two-color and one-color variations, to be used on various colored backgrounds. All logos are provided in eps and pdf format. (NOTE: The pdf format can be used for on-screen viewing, including PowerPoint presentations.
