DISCUSSION STARTER: Have you ever heard of Pollyanna? Pollyanna is the main character of a book by Eleanor Porter. In the book, Pollyanna encounters many difficult situations like getting a pair of crutches for Christmas instead of the doll she had been hoping for. But Pollyanna finds a way to be happy by playing what she calls “The Glad Game.” She chooses to celebrate that she doesn’t need crutches instead of being sad that she didn’t get the present she had wanted.
