Hello again! It is time for a new prayer letter. Lots of things have happened in the last weeks and lots of things will be happening in the coming 2 months! Lately I was challenged by what is written in Romans 12:11 “Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically”. I pray that this will be our/ my attitude in all the work we/ I am doing. The 3 brothers. In my last prayer letter I wrote about 3 brothers who were living in a real difficult situation. They were abandoned by their parents, lived in an old barn, had no food and the youngest one had a broken arm. At the end the 3 brothers were taken to the hospital. Let me tell you what their situation is now, so we can keep praying for them. When the older two brothers (Colea, 14 and Ion, 8) were released from the hospital they went back to their home village. A sister of the church opened her house for them and now the two guys are staying with her. The younger brother (Mihai, 3) needed to stay for a longer time in the hospital. He had more serious problems with his health and needed to have several treatments. When he was released, he was brought to stay with his grandmother. Until now he is still not able to use his arm in a normal way. The doctors said that his arm needs to be broken again and than they can put it again in the right position. This needs to be done in the coming months. Mihai’s grandmother didn’t take good care of Mihai. She regularly beaded him up, did not feed him properly, left him till the middle of the night on the street etc. So the situation of this little boy was horrible. When we saw what was happening to Mihai, we decided to try to get him into a Christian orphanage close by Chisinau. Of course, first the papers needed to be ready before Mihai could move. Grandmother was willing to sign any paper and after a couple of weeks working on the right paperwork, Michai was taken last Friday to the Christian orphanage. With grandmother is living another brother of Mihai. He is a little older (5 years) and first the plan was for both of the brothers to move the orphanage but grandmother doesn’t want to sign the papers for this boy so for now he remains with grandmother. The summer program: Love Moldova. At this moment we are preparing for the summer. On our list we have until now 140 participants from all over the world, who will come for a short term mission trip. Most of the participants come for 2 weeks but some choose to join a little longer, 1 months or 2 months. We will have around 17 teams, who will go to different villages and towns in Moldova. They will run day camps for children, visit elderly and sick people at home, build playgrounds, encourage the church, run sport camps and do all kind of practical work. We have a busy and exciting summer coming up! There are lots of things to think about and to organize. I pray that God will guide us in all the preparation and the whole organisation of the program. The first Love Moldova campaign will start today. I am curious what God is going to do this summer in Moldova. I pray that lots of children, teenagers, young people, adults and elderly in Moldova will hear the great news!
