Juniper Networks Certified Associate Junos (JNCIA-Junos) Course Format: Customized Live Remote Classes - 8 student minimum Real-time, instructor-led virtual class Attend from any location Classes scheduled based on student availability Interaction and collaboration with instructor and fellow students Instructor support via email for duration of course Skilled and experienced instructor for evening session delivery; two, 4-hour evening sessions/week for 2 weeks Must complete 80% of sessions; opportunity to make-up sessions is limited; no class recordings available Review materials included Pass ITCAP final exam to earn grade.
Course Description: The Juniper Networks Certified Associate - Junos (JNCIA-Junos) is designed for experienced networking professionals with beginner-intermediate knowledge of the Juniper Networks Junos OS, networking fundamentals and basic internet routing. This course provides students with the foundational knowledge required to work with the Junos operating system and to configure Junos devices. The course provides a brief overview of the Junos device families and discusses the key architectural components of the software. Key topics include user interface options with a heavy focus on the command-line interface (CLI), configuration tasks typically associated with the initial setup of devices, interface configuration basics with configuration examples, secondary system configuration, and the basics of operational monitoring and maintenance of Junos devices. Additionally, this course provides students with foundational routing knowledge and configuration examples, and includes an overview of general routing concepts, routing policy, and firewall filters with Juniper Networks routing and switching technologies.
Class: Juniper Networks Certified Associate Junos: Successful candidates demonstrate knowledge of the Juniper Networks Junos OS, networking fundamentals, and basic routing and switching. Course Prerequisites: CCNA certification or equivalent knowledge of the following is recommended: Network models, data flow between computers, and network addressing Routing basics – layer 2 and 3 addressing, using routers, address resolution IP addressing – network masks, working with binary numbers, subnetting, and routing data through a network Ethernet LANs – hubs, bridges, switches and VLANs Transport Layer protocols – UDP and TCP Understanding of the OSI model and the TCP/IP protocol suite Equipment Needed for Course: Direct Internet connectivity (no firewalls or proxy servers) for online classroom and remote lab access Headsets with microphones for VOIP Course Duration: 2 weeks (2, 4-hour evening sessions/week for 2 weeks) Course Cost: $1,400 College Credits: 1 credit
