Report from Kimunkunda water project Feb 23 at 7:34 AM THE SHOUTS OF JOY REPORT FOR KIMUKUNDA WATER HARVEST PROJECT (Phase 1) written by Prossy Kaitesi, church administrator, Glory Center Church, Ndejje, Uganda Hallelujah to the Lamb of God, my heart and whole of my life is extremely filled up with shouts of joy to the King who Reigns forever and ever more. I am very happy to inform you that installation of the first four of the ten proposed water- harvest systems in Kimukunda were finished on the 22nd day of February, 2016. It is my prayer for God to bless the Men of Willow and all people who have given in for this project. Proverbs 29:2 says; When the righteous are in authority, people rejoice but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn (KJV). Brethren, I thank God that the rule of wickedness in the community of Kimukunda has been thrown down through water harvest project. Men of Willow and all the friends who have sponsored this water project, I know you may find it difficult to comprehend just how much of an effect this project is having in this community. But please try to understand this: The devil’s wickedness is being put down and now the atmosphere is full of rejoicing and exaltations of what the Almighty God has done. I was told that the people, not just the born-again (evangelical) Christians, but also others, like those who are well known to abuse (drugs, alcohol, physical and sexual of others) and those who have refused to believe in God are now turning their words into shouts of joy to God, glorifying Him with their own words (I have also witnessed this), thanking the righteous God for bringing such a big blessing in their community. The Kimukunda community, apart from having the problem of water, has been dominated by witchcraft and pagan beliefs and practices with only a few born-again believers. These people have been suffering for years with the problem of water before God (through His Son Jesus) came in to intervene in the community through this project. The church has had limited impact and voice in the community. However, as I write this, people are rejoicing, respecting the Gospel of Christ and the Kingdom of God is now in control and expanding with the shouts of joy. God’s people are now given authority to overcome the evil in this community just as it is written in Luke 10:19. God is good that this project is going to reduce the need for safe and clean water in this community; the need for water is overwhelming and still big to them. We can only reduce the need as per our project. The most affected age group is the elderly and the young children who walk for a big distance to fetch water. Due to that, some loose the opportunity for education. In this community they are few young people. Most of them died of HIV and others moved to city. I want to remind you that this project is mostly to preach the gospel and help the above age group. Thanks to donors for remembering these people who struggle just to get a drop of water to sustain their lives. In doing so, we are reducing the death rate in the community due to water borne diseases and also reduce illiteracy amongst children.

As we were teaching how to treat water, I recalled the statement of the officer of Rakai District when he was appreciating us for the work done in Kabawanga and Kimukunda (he added a request to continue supporting these water projects) He said, “you are talking and teaching about clean and safe water. There are times when we would be grateful to have any kind of water – clean or dirty. This is more than we could ever hope for.” I request you to think about this statement! This is how valuable every penny is that you are giving out to help this community. It gives spiritual and physical water to such thirsty souls. Yesterday a team of six people from G.C.C. Ndejje went to Kimukunda,Rakai to meet the beneficiaries and to hand over the four finished gospel and water stations (tanks) into the hands of the committee members in the presence of the community members. Pr.Charles talked much about how to maintain the project and keep the system working in terms of security. Sylvia was able to teach about hygiene, sanitation and how to treat the water. I and John Bosco talked more about setting up a bank account to save money for maintenance and buying water during the dry season, and Henry was able to share the living water message with the community members. Therefore, on the 22nd day of February 2016, marked the official completion of this first phase of the water harvest project in Kimukunda. People are very much grateful beyond imagination. Since we started the project, I can’t tell you all the testimonies I have heard from people, but here are some of them that touched my heart so much. The local leader Mr.Lutaaya Kizito, appreciated the church and the donors and he requested the members of the community to offer at least 2 youths from each of their families to volunteer at the church of Kimukunda because of what the church has done. He said if it was not for this church, the community would not have been able to get water. Another person said, in their religion they have never seen such kind hearts of giving and wishing the best to others like the evangelical Christians do. Friends, the stumbling block for the glorious Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ was broken and is still being broken by your kindness in giving towards this project and the glory of God is being manifested in Kimukunda. Everywhere we went, the talk of the day was about the water project. All is good and continuing to be good in Kimukunda because of the water harvest project. I fear to think how it would have been if the vision of giving water to this community was not taken on! We still are in need of $15000 to finish the remaining six systems. Please continue to stand with us in prayers and in any support of giving. We may not know all that God has in store for us or how He is leading us. The requests we receive from other communities are more than what we can imagine or handle.

May the Lord God always bless you and remember every effort you have rendered in helping us reaching out to the uttermost parts of the world with the glorious gospel of the kingdom of God particularly giving hope to the hopeless, love to the unloved, sharing fatherly and motherly love to the vulnerable children. This has been manifested through this project brethren. Appreciations to all people with such kind hearts of giving and preaching the gospel of CHRIST to the lost souls through this method. The Kimukunda community has sent their heartfelt and warm appreciations to you all. Be blessed and stay blessed, on behalf of G.C.C.P.M.
