Kindle eBooks 1) If you have a Kindle, proceed to Step 2. If you have a PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Blackberry, Android device, or Windows Phone 7, you will need to install the free Kindle app before downloading eBooks. Go to the Library’s catalog at http://austinlibrary.lib.overdrive.com and select Getting Started/ Quick Start Guide. Scroll down to Download and install free software and select the device on which you want to install the app. You will be routed to Amazon.com; continue with their instructions for installing. 2) Find something to Read! Search the catalog at http://austinlibrary.lib.overdrive.com on your Kindle or mobile device with the Kindle app. When you find a title you’re interested in, tap on Add To My Cart. Tap on Proceed to Checkout. Sign in with your library card number and PIN if you are not already signed in. Select your lending period, 7 or 14 day checkout, then tap on Confirm Check Out. Tap Get for Kindle. An Amazon.com window titled Get Your Library Loan will open. Tap on Get library book. A Sign In screen asking for your email address and Amazon.com password will open. Under Digital Content/Digital Management, tap on Manage Your Kindle. Under Actions, next to the title you want to return, select Return this book. To remove the eBook from Your Kindle Library list entirely, under Actions, select Delete this title.
