TO SET THE IGNITION TIMING : BOLT THE STATOR PLATE DOWN IN THE CENTER OF ITS ADJUSTMENT SLOTS AND FIT THE FLYWHEEL. WHILE THE PISTON IS AT TOP DEAD CENTER (TDC), PAINT A WHITE MARK ACROSS THE FLYWHEEL AND THE MAG FLANGE AT ANY POINT THAT IS EASY TO VIEW, THIS IS NOW THE "TDC" MARK. TURN THE FLYWHEEL BACK ANTI CLOCKWISE THE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF DEGREES BEFORE TOP DEAD CENTRE (19).THEN MAKE ANOTHER MARK ON THE MAG FLANGE IN LINE WITH THE TDC WHITE MARK ON THE FLYWHEEL, THIS IS NOW THE "TIMING" MARK AND THIS IS THE POINT WHERE THE SPARK SHOULD OCCUR. CHECK THAT THE IGNITION TIMING IS CORRECT USING A STROBE LIGHT. THE WHITE MARK ON THE FLYWHEEL SHOULD CLEARLY LINE UP WITH THE WHITE TIMING MARK ON THE MAG FLANGE. IF NOT THEN ADJUST THE STATOR PLATE AS NECESSARY. ALAN BEED .COM
