Introduction

W

e all need an abiding walk with God. And that can happen because of His Holy Spirit in us. The way we walk with Him is to stay in close contact by communicating through prayer. We must talk to Him. But He also wants to talk to us. And that, too, happens by His Holy Spirit in us. There are so many reasons we need to hear from God each day, but some of the main ones are so that we can make right decisions, live the way He wants us to, and stay on the path He has for us. In order to do all that, we have to draw near to Him. That means not only taking time to speak to Him, but also to listen to whatever He wants to tell us personally. God wants to do things in your life that cannot happen without the power of His Holy Spirit

Led to Receive the Relationship with God You Have Always Needed

L

ord, help me to know You more. Enable me to fully understand my relationship with You through Jesus, Your Son. Help me, Jesus, to comprehend all You accomplished for me on the cross. Thank You for Your suffering and death, which have saved me from the consequences of my own wrong thoughts and actions. I am eternally grateful that after You were crucified, You rose from the dead to prove that You are who You say You are and that Your words and promises are without fail. I declare that You are Lord over every aspect of my life. Thank You for forgiving me of all my sins, giving me a new beginning and the promise of eternity with You.

Led to Receive the Promise of God’s Spirit in You

L

ord, I ask You for a great outpouring of Your Holy Spirit in me. Enable me “to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge” so that I “may be filled with all the fullness” of You (Ephesians 3:19). I don’t ever want to take lightly the fact that You have sent Your Spirit to dwell in me, to guide and help me live the life You have for me. Help me to hear the leading of Your Spirit telling me the way to walk. Give me understanding about all You want to do in and through me. I invite You to move powerfully through me, for I know that Your Spirit in me is how You touch the world around me.

Led to Receive the Freedom and Wholeness God Has for You

L

ord, help me to receive the wholeness You have for me. Free me from everything that keeps me from becoming all You created me to be. Thank You, Holy Spirit, that I can find liberty in Your presence (2 Corinthians 3:17). Liberate me from anything in me or around me that is not Your will for my life. Set me free from every evil work. Quiet my mind, cleanse my heart, heal every negative emotion, and set me free from anything that is not of You. Thank You that You will continue to deliver me until I am completely whole. Enable me to stand strong against ever falling back into any kind of bondage or error again.

We had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us.

Led to Receive the Inheritance Laid Up for You as God’s Child

L

ord, thank You that You are my heavenly Father and You have made me to be Your child (1 John 3:1). I am grateful for the inheritance You have given me and that You have made me to be a joint heir with Christ. Help me to understand all that this means and how I am to possess what You have for my life. Holy Spirit, I come before You and ask You to speak to my heart about whatever I need to know. Show me what You want me to see. Enable me to follow Your leading as I move into this holy inheritance and open up to every thing You have provided for my life.

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

Led to Be Filled with His Power and Might

L

ord, thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit in me. Help me to never restrict the Spirit’s flow moving in and through me, changing me into Your likeness and touching others for Your kingdom. I pray for a fresh filling of Your Spirit right now—greater than I have known before. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for Your power and might on my behalf. Thank You that Your Spirit in me is “a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life” ( John 4:14). Thank You that You give me access to Your power for Your purposes. I know it is not by my strength, but by the power of Your Spirit that I can do great things for You (Zechariah 4:6).

Led to Be Filled with His Truth and Understanding

L

ord, thank You that I have the mind of Christ, and because of that I can know the things I need to understand. Thank You, Holy Spirit of truth, that You have filled me with Your truth and understanding. I know I cannot fully see the truth without You. Keep me undeceived. Enable me to hear Your voice above all others so that I can always distinguish the truth from a lie. Thank You that “You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory” (Psalm 73:24). Give me the truth, knowledge, and understanding I need in order to make right choices and decisions about every person and situation. Lead me always in the way of Your truth.
