42 offers college-level coding and software engineering programs for free. Weʼve got 1024 iMacs and 600 spaces in our dorms. Our programs are free and so are the dorms.

Weʼre a large computer programming and software engineering school with college-level and high school programs, a workshop, and a project incubator. Students so far have internships or jobs at Microsoft, Apple, FileMaker, Scality, LinkedIn, Instacart, and more. 42 is free. Are you too good to be true? No! Weʼre really free. Thereʼs no catch. Education should be accessible so we also offer free dorms.

What programs do you offer? We have 3 programs: the 42 Program, 42 Starfleet Academy, and HackHighSchool. The 42 program and 42 Starfleet Academy are computer programming and software engineering programs that cover a wide range of topics/specializations. 42 Starfleet Academy is an intensive 12-month program of the normal 42 curriculum. HackHighSchool is our free coding program for high school students on Saturdays. Any age limits? The 42 program and 42 Starfleet Academy are for ages18-30. HackHighSchool is for high school students (can be flexible if youʼre eager!). How are you free? Weʼre funded by a French billionaire called Xavier Niel (heʼs like the Steve Jobs of France). He funded 42 in Paris and in Silicon Valley. He wants to give back to society and education is a great means of doing so. How do I join the 42 program? You need to apply through admissions.42.us.org. There are 2 logic/memory tests to take, then you attend a “check-in.” After that, you need to sign up for Intensive Basic Training, 28 days of coding. Survive then start as a 42 student!
