LEARNING​ ​COMMONS​ ​RESOURCES MANAGEMENT​ ​SYSTEM​ ​-​ ​DESTINY K-12,​ ​district-wide​ ​library​ ​resources​ ​management​ ​system​ ​from​ ​Follett​ ​Software. ●

This​ ​centralized​ ​management​ ​system​ ​facilitates​ ​the​ ​circulation,​ ​tracking​ ​and​ ​distribution of​ ​all​ ​learning​ ​resources​ ​throughout​ ​the​ ​district,​ ​including​ ​school​ ​library​ ​collections,​ ​the Instructional​ ​Materials​ ​Centre​ ​(IMC)​ ​K-12​ ​textbooks,​ ​Instructional​ ​Services​ ​resource packages,​ ​online​ ​databases,​ ​ebooks​ ​and​ ​other​ ​resources​ ​and​ ​materials.

All​ ​staff​ ​and​ ​students​ ​can​ ​access​ ​the​ ​Destiny​ s​ ystem​ ​using​ ​their​ ​computer​ ​web​ ​browser either​ ​from​ ​school​ ​or​ ​from​ ​home.​ ​This​ ​link​ ​found​ ​on​ ​the​ ​Staff​ ​Intranet​ ​web​ ​page,​ ​district Resource​ ​Management​ ​System,​ ​will​ ​lead​ ​to​ ​information​ ​about​ ​the​ ​management​ ​system and​ ​to​ ​school​ ​library​ ​websites.

Staff​ ​and​ ​students​ ​must​ ​then​ ​select​ ​their​ ​home​ ​school​ ​link​ ​and​ ​log​ ​on​ ​to​ ​Destiny​ ​using their​ ​district​ ​user​ ​name​ ​and​ ​password.

From​ ​the​ ​library​ ​catalogue​ ​tab,​ ​staff​ ​and​ ​students​ ​can​ ​search​ ​for​ ​relevant​ ​learning resources​ ​at​ ​their​ ​home​ ​school,​ ​the​ ​district​ ​IMC​ ​or​ ​from​ ​any​ ​school​ ​in​ ​the​ ​district. Physical​ ​learning​ ​resources​ ​can​ ​then​ ​be​ ​reserved​ ​for​ ​their​ ​use​ ​and​ ​if​ ​not​ ​located​ ​in​ ​their home​ ​school,​ ​shipped​ ​to​ ​their​ ​school​ ​through​ ​the​ ​district​ ​inter-school​ ​mail​ ​system.

This​ ​Destiny​ ​Resource​ ​Management​ ​System​ ​makes​ ​it​ ​possible​ ​for​ ​school​ ​staff​ ​to​ ​have​ ​access​ ​to a​ ​district-wide​ ​online​ ​listing​ ​of​ ​learning​ ​resources,​ ​including​ ​the​ ​number​ ​of​ ​copies,​ ​the​ ​location and​ ​the​ ​availability​ ​of​ ​each​ ​resource.
