FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: January 17, 2016

LEHRMANN TOPS ALL STATEWIDE CANDIDATES IN FUNDRAISING The Texas Ethics Commission released end-of-year campaign finance reports Saturday which showed that Texas Supreme Court Justice Debra Lehrmann was the top fundraiser among all Texas candidates for statewide offices in the upcoming primary. “Texas is very large and so we have worked very hard to reach all Texans for their votes, their endorsements, and for their financial support,” said Lehrmann. “It is an honor to see that such a large number of Texans have joined our campaign.” Judicial ethics rules tightly restrict the size of contributions to all members of the Texas Judiciary. The rules make it essential that judges get smaller contributions from a very wide group of people rather than large contributions from a few individuals. This fact makes Justice Lehrmann’s accomplishment even more impressive because it shows her broad base of support. Justice Lehrmann is a lifelong Republican. She has been married to Greg Lehrmann, J.D. for thirty-two years. They have two adult sons who are in law school. Recently, Justice Lehrmann has received the endorsement of two of Texas' top pro-life organizations, and one of the State's strongest advocates for pro-life action. She is also endorsed by the oldest and largest state legal reform organization, the Texas Civil Justice League, numerous business organizations and countless other entities. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate, Lehrmann received her B.A. from the The University of Texas and her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law. She has been an active leader within the legal profession ever since. She has received numerous legal awards, including those honoring her work to serve children subject to abuse and neglect. She has continued to protect young Texans and their families through her work on the Court. ## 30 ##
