UPD 2.0: Configurations

Locked Prevent users from changing the value of a setting. Ensures that a certain setting is used on all jobs printed through the configured driver.

Default Users can change the configuration settings only through an application during printing. The user will be unable to change the setting through the print object. Lexmark Confidential

Proof then Print Mode is used when printing multiple copies to ensure no mistakes have been made. It prevents wasting toner, time and media. – Selected via the printer driver under Properties / Other Options / Print and Hold…/Verify –If the job meets the user’s approval, the rest of the job can be released from the printer Lexmark Confidential

Job Accounting

Job Accounting allows admins to view and print reports on jobs printed for each User. This helps organizations to better understand who is using the most color, and on which devices. – Located in the EWS > Settings > Job Accounting – User can set reporting frequency and also where to send reports – Document Accounting technology enables the new Lexmark eSF Quotas app, which goes a step further by actually restricting the number of jobs of a certain type a user can perform, within a given time period. Black and White Mode

Black&White Mode allows the selected printer to print in mono grayscale or color. This mode can be selected from the Operator Panel or the web page. – Op Panel can be locked to prevent changes to settings by non-authorized users – Located under Settings > Print Settings > Quality > Print Mode – Two choices • Color/ Black & White

Function Access Controls allows an admin to restrict access to device functions and solutions, per group or per user. – Located in the EWS > Settings > Security > Security Setup > Access Controls – Can select from a number of security building blocks

Color Print Permissions Using MarkVision Professional, IT administrators can configure printers so that only certain network user ID’s have the ability to print color from a Lexmark color printer. MarkVision Professional allows IT administrators to enter user ID exceptions to normal printing function. This feature is not currently supported in MarkVision Enterprise. – The user ID’s are downloaded and stored in the printer. – They can be updated at any time and as many times as customers wish. – The list is limited to 100 user ID’s per printer. – The list is intended to be an exceptions list.
