LGMA Board Appoints New Executive Director The LGMA Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Nancy Taylor as the new Executive Director. Nancy will start her employment with the LGMA effective Monday, January 21, 2013. “On behalf of the Board, we are very pleased with the selection of Nancy. She brings a wide range of experience from the local, provincial and federal levels of government, as well as experience in international development to the Local Government Management Association”, said Alberto De Feo, LGMA President. Nancy’s experience includes working most recently with the Province of BC as Director of International Marketing with the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training, where she led a team responsible for the promotion of British Columbia in key international markets to increase exports and attract investment. Nancy worked with stakeholders in the strategic planning, design and implementation of the province’s International Marketing Strategy. Prior to working with the Province, Nancy worked at the City of Victoria in various positions including as Senior Advisor, Intergovernmental and Strategic Initiatives that provided policy advice for the Chief Administrative Officer, Mayor and Council on key social and economic projects. Nancy managed a team that worked with stakeholders and delivered the report on the Mayor’s Task Force on Homelessness, Mental Health and Addictions. Nancy had her own consulting firm that focused on capacity development and program delivery in a number of developing countries that included working with the United Nations, Inter-American Development Bank, UK Department for International Development, and Canadian International Development Agency. As well, Nancy worked for the United Nations as a program manager where she managed large multi-disciplinary project teams in Caribbean countries and assisted Governments, the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States and the Caribbean Community in the identification of needs and priorities for public sector capacity development.
