Louisiana Elementary Math Olympiad ‐ 2014 Elementary school students will face off for math competition, an extracurricular math event to be held at Kenilworth Science and Technology School, Saturday, February 15th, 2014. KST aims to provide challenging, engaging mathematical experience which is both competitive and educational. All interested 4th and 5th graders are welcomed to participate in the competition. There is no registration fee.
Registration: Register online at www.laemo.org or submit (mail, fax, or hand‐in) the registration form before February 12th, 2014.
Participants: All 4th and 5th grade students in Louisiana.
Awards: 1st Place: The student wins an iPod Touch. His/her math teacher will be awarded $100 gift card 2nd Place: The student wins a Kindle Fire. His/her math teacher will be awarded $75 gift card 3rd Place: The student wins a Kindle. His/her math teacher will be awarded $75 gift card 4th Place: The student wins an iPod Shuffle. His/her math teacher will be awarded $25 gift card 1st – 25th Place: The students will get a certificate and a medal. All participants will receive a KST Math Contest participation certificate. Door prizes will be given to the parents during the contest. Questions: Multiple choice questions from various math topics aligned to Common Core.
