Access and security Humanitarian access continues to improve in central regions. In the north, aid activities remain limited due to insecurity. Military operations, mine incidents and violence by armed groups continue to create a highly volatile operating environment. Partners continue to rely on boat convoys on the Niger River to provide assistance from Mopti to Timbuktu. However, river water level is decreasing and might affect transportation capacity.
