Position Highlights ICBC has a great opportunity for an individual with demonstrated personal commitment and passion to environmental sustainability to join their team. As Manager, Environmental Sustainability, you will develop and manage corporate wide environmental policies, programs and initiatives to address environmental risk management and legal compliance, and to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship. Your role as lead will also be responsible for preparing a detailed action plan for energy reduction and energy related cost-savings and quarterly reports to BC Hydro on energy initiatives. Your responsibilities will include: Develops and manages corporate wide programs and initiatives on the Corporation's greenhouse gas emissions and energy management by maintaining greenhouse gas inventory, data quality assurance and carbon offset purchases; Develops, implements, and manages corporate wide environmental services and programs to ensure legal compliance and standards are met. Establishes and maintains various procedures and programs for the mitigation and/or response to environmental risks and incidents. Manages services of external consultants and legal; Identifies areas for potential energy and sustainability retrofit projects, develops business case, and manages implementation; Participates in the preparation of business cases as well as long range plans for corporate environmental sustainability, including climate adaptation planning; Gathers, verifies and analyses data relating to ICBC’s environmental footprint (greenhouse gas, waste, water, etc.). Analyses the environmental benefits of initiatives, such as carbon dioxide (CO2) reductions. Performs financial and statistical analysis to identify and quantify opportunities; Participates in preparing quarterly environmental reports to the Board of Directors and the Executive Environment committee. Prepares and delivers the annual reports on climate change and sustainability and greenhouse gas emissions to the

government; Analyzes and interprets the evolving legal framework for environmental sustainability. Maintains awareness of the sustainability plans of peer organizations and legislative changes; Determines the impact of changes on existing environmental sustainability programs as well as the requirements for new programs.
Position Requirements To be successful in this role, candidates will have an undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field (Science, Environmental Sciences or Business) along with five plus years’ professional experience working with a range of environmental issues; Professional designation in Environmental Management, Environment Sustainability, Energy Management and/or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design; Knowledge of the environmental considerations, concepts, standards and practices related to facility operations and design; The ability to influence through strong verbal and written communication skills; Excellent facilitation skills and the desire to maintain positive relationships with internal clients and external partners.
