“Train your Brain“ with Dr. Kawashima – Manual

Introduction Welcome! Thank you for buying “Train your Brain“ with Dr. Kawashima. BBG Entertainment has developed this game on the basis of 30 exercises for brain activation which were executed cooperating with the Industry University Research Project with Dr. Kawashima. Dr. Kawashima is a famous Japanese neuroscientist and has appeared in other well-received brain training products before. Dr. Kawashima and his cute little assistant Robo will support you in every aspect of the game. They will be at your side whenever you need them, explaining the different exercises and illustrating the scientific background of each exercise. The game was developed with a very special goal in mind: To stimulate the human brain and to train its potential. But of course the training should also be fun, and that’s why we call it a game. So you have bought this game – a good start! Let us explain why you made a wise choice: After reaching the age of twenty, the human brain capacity will slowly begin to decline. This is a completely natural process just like our physical strength decreases over the years. But exactly like maintaining our physical strength by doing sports, the brain can also stay young and fit through regular training! This game will – if training is done regularly – stimulate your brain and strengthen its basic capabilities, for example, your memory or reasoning power. We wish you a delightful and successful training! The BBG Entertainment Team

Every step of the tutorial consists of a short text and a preview of the game area. Finish the tutorial by clicking on the check mark at the end or use the “X” at any time. Scientific background The exercises for brain activation were executed cooperating with the Industry University Research Project with Dr. Kawashima. We conducted several series of tests during which we measured the brain waves of our test persons by the means of 28 probes. After thorough scientific analysis, we can tell which of the five parts of the prefrontal cortex were stimulated and how strongly. For the exercises to show the right effect, certain levels of brain activation have to be achieved.

13

“Train your Brain“ with Dr. Kawashima – Manual

If you want to know which part of the brain is activated by a given exercise, click on Dr. Kawashima‘s thought bubble “Need scientific info” when performing the exercise. He will show you the activated parts on a brain map.

The frontal lobe, the front part of your brain, consists mainly of the prefrontal cortex, which controls important aspects of the human brain. Amongst other things, it provides the basis for creativity, memory, communication skills and composure.

Game Characters / Brain Fitness and Daily Tests

Brain Fitness and Daily Tests Train your Brain with Dr. Kawashima measures the performance of your brain as “Brain Fitness”. The “Brain Fitness” score is calculated from the results of your “Daily Tests”. Exercises, which are included in the training list, have no impact on the “Brain Fitness” score.

So please remember, only “Daily Test” results will influence your “Brain Fitness”. Take the “Daily Test” regularly and you will see your “Brain Fitness” improving over time. Dr. Kawashima will offer you a new “Daily Test” every day. You will find access to the “Daily Test” via a thought bubble above his head. The exercises in the trainings list, which Robo is offering you, will help you to prepare yourself for the “Daily Test”. Here is one more important notice: The measure “Brain Fitness” is not an official scientific measurement. We only use it for this particular game in order to allow you to track the progress of your training. The higher your “Brain Fitness” score, the better the performance of your brain. Each “Brain Fitness” score is associated with a rank. You will begin as a “Bustling Ant” and can work yourself all the way up to earn the rank “Out of this World”. Good luck!
