Depending on time, we may skip sections 9.5, 10.5, and 11.5. 2. Learning Outcomes: After taking this course, the successful student should be able to: • set up integrals representing arc lengths, areas, volumes, and centers of mass, • compute a variety of definite and indefinite integrals using different methods, such as substitution, integration by parts, and partial fractions, • solve first order linear differential equations, as well as some second order differential equations, • apply various tests to determine if a series is convergent or divergent, • compute the Taylor series for a given function and derive its domain of convergence, • use Taylor series to approximate a variety of functions. 3. Course Work: There will be regular homework assignments due at nearly each class meeting. Homework and due dates will be posted on the class website. LATE HOMEWORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED (except in the case of illness, personal emergencies, etc.). There will be two midterm exams, the first on February 21, and the second on March 31.
